Blaze, being a light sleeper, heard the commotion, throwing up his blankets and rising towards the sound. There he found Amaretto crying on his back on the kitchen floor. "Amaretto!" He said in concern. "Are you okay?" He said, kneeling next to him, his eyes full of worry. Dear Lord, if Amaretto was badly hurt, he would be mad at himself forever.
-
Amaretto desperately tried to wipe away his tears when he heard Blaze get up, sure that he'd be angry just like his old owner would be. But he couldn't stop crying, because he'd landed at an odd angle on his tail and it hurt terribly. When Blaze entered, Amaretto nodded despite his pain, shakily moving to stand up. "I-I'm sorry..." He cried, flattening his ears against his head.
-
Blaze shook his head. "No, you obviously aren't. Come on. Tell me what hurts." It made him angry with himself that Amaretto had gotten hurt in his house. He should've told Amaretto where everything was, then he wouldn't have gotten hurt. Luckily, he was more worried than angry, and he didn't let the anger show. He didn't want to frighten the poor hybrid.
-
Amaretto's legs shook in fright once he was standing up. He was more scared than anything that Blaze was going to put him in a box too, and then he'd be alone and hurt. But he heard compassion in Blaze's voice, rather than anger. After a second of sniffling and wiping at his eyes, he murmured, "I-I was hungry, so I was getting food, and I was standing on the counter, and I fell and I hurt my tail.." He looked back at the long apendage that was covered in fur. It was hard to tell because of how frizzy the fur on it always was, but it was crooked slighty to the left halway through it. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again."
-
Blaze shook his head. "No, it's my fault. I should have shown you where everything was... then you could've used the stool and you wouldn't have gotten hurt... god I'm so stupid!" He shook his head. "Come on, let's go fix up that tail of yours."
-
Amaretto wrung his hands together nervously. The way Blaze was being so kind almost frightened the hybrid, who was so used to being treated carelessly. "Okay..." He murmured, waiting for Blaze to lead the way.
-
Blaze gently grabbed Amaretto's wrist, pulling him along to the bathroom, where he say him down, pulling out the first aid kit and searching through it for the wrapping bandages, and maybe some hot pads if he found any.
-
Amaretto kneeled on the ground, his butt on top of his feet to keep his tail in the air and away from the ground. He continued to whimper and cry, but did so far softer now that it seemed that Blaze wasn't angry.
-
"Ah ha!" Blaze had found the mini hot pads, and the wrapping bandages. He lightly grasped the part of the tail that was bent, and said, "I'm really sorry, thus might hurt a bit..." before snapping the tail back into place. It had been dislocated at that point, and he knew it would hurt, so he immediately put the mini hot pad on and wrapped the tail and the pad with the bandage. "There." He said. "Fixed. I'm really sorry if I hurt you..." He apologized. He was really sorry...
-
Amaretto cried out in pain, throwing his hands up to his face. But he knew that Blaze had only done it to help him, so he sniffled and mumbled, "I-its okay.. So it's all better now, right?" The hot pad helped a bit from it hurting, and he turned his head to look up at Blaze.
-
Blaze smiled at him. "Yep. Give it a day or two in the bandage and it'll be good as new." He was glad he was able to help, though he wished it had never happened in the first place.
-
Amaretto nodded, wiping his sleeves across his face to dry his tears again. Now that he was all fixed, he stood up again, hugging his arms around himself. "I'm sorry about your cereal. I think I spilled it all."
-
Blaze smiled. "It's okay. That was one box of many. I hate going shopping, so I stock up." He stood up. "Are you still hungry? I can get you something." He offered, holding out his hand to Amaretto.
-
Amaretto nodded, then looked down at the hand he was offered. Usually, he didn't like touching other people, in irrational fear of them hurting him. But Blaze seemed to want to do the exact opposite, so he cautiously reached out and accepted the hand he was offered.
-
Blaze gripped Amaretto's hand gently, pulling him back to the kitchen. "So what are you in the mood for?" He asked. He was a little hungry too, to tell the truth.
