I whimpered slightly. "T-they're gonna make up, right?" They had been the cutest together... He was just worried for her. They'd forgive each other... right?
-
Caleb- I sighed lightly. "I dunno. Diana's pretty good at holding a grudge, and I've never seen Travis so mad. Maybe it would help if you talked to one of them?" I suggested. Indie was friends with both of them, she could probably talk some sense into Diana or Travis.
-
I nodded. "I can try." I paused. "But I don't know where either of them went... I think I could talk to Diana though..."
(Sorry! My Wi-Fi is being trippy. :I) -
That's okie, mine does that sometimes too.)
Caleb- I nodded and pointed in the direction she'd gone in. "Be careful, Diana can be a little harsh when she's upset. I'll go follow Travis." I get up and kiss her cheek, running off before she can react.
Diana- I make my way into one the rooms. Percy told me David was in it. I opened the door and shut it behind me. There he was, tied up. I sat down on the bed and looked at him, trying to think of something to say. "...Hey Di." I bit my lip as I heard my nickname. Travis was the only other person I'd ever allowed to call me that. "David...I need to know why." I stared at him, silently cursing the regretful look in his beautifully familiar grey eyes. -
I smiled after Caleb, putting my hand to my cheek. Then, I stood up, running off after Diana. I heard her voice coming from inside a room down the hall, so I started slowing down and going silent. I stood outside the door, listening to her talk to... David, as she said his name was.
-
"Di, you don't understand. Kronos...he promised to make things better for us. He wanted me to kill you, Di..." David trailed off before shaking his head. "I couldn't do that. So I wounded you instead. I knew that if I hurt you, you'd be kept out of the battle. You'd be kept alive." I frowned. "But I'm healed now. I need to help the others fight-" "No! No, you can't go back out there. The others really will kill you, Di, and I can't let that happen." I try to look away, but his eyes seem to have me caught. "David, how can I trust you after what you did?" I try to sound convincing, but I know I'd still trust him with my life. At camp we'd been so close...What if he really was trying to protect me?
-
I leaned against the wall next to the door, not believing a weird this guy said to her. I hoped Diana wouldn't believe it, but her question didn't sound very convincing to me.
-
We stayed there for a moment, just watching each other. He looked exactly how I remembered him. Unruly blonde hair, stormy grey eyes. I remembered the days at camp where we'd just do nothing together. Sit by the lake or the campfire and just talk. I missed that. I had missed him. "Di..." I had missed the sound of his voice. "Untie me. Please..."
-
'NO!' I mentally shouted. If she untied him he could hurt her. I wouldn't actually say it until she tried... but I hoped she wouldn't fall for his trick that easily.
-
His reassuring smile was something I couldn't ignore. Slowly I rose from the bed and nodded. "Okay." I stepped towards him. He was still smiling at me, the same smile I'd seen so many times before. It was familiar. It was safe. He wouldn't hurt me. I reached out for the ropes.
-
I threw open the door. "NO!" I shouted. The pipes in the walls all around me burst, water flooding in. "Diana, don't fall for his trick! He'll hurt you again!" The water was rising with my anger, not at Diana, but at David. How dare he take advantage of her like that?!
-
I jumped in surprise before running to David's side. The water was rising rapidly. "I-Indie, stop! I know what I'm doing!" My fingers fumbled with the ropes, trying to undo them before the water rose above our heads. David looked at me, his expression slightly nervous.
-
I felt my vision begin to blur, but I shook it off. I moved the water away from Diana, but the rest I left where it was. "No, you don't! He's going to hurt you! I can prove it!" I shouted. I want supposed to use the Mirror of Time my mom gave me except in dire need, but I figured this was a good time.
-
Mirror of time? That sounds fun X3)
I reached desperately for the ropes, by some miracle managing to pull the knot away. David stood up, now freed, and grabbed me in his arms. I leaned into him, trying to back away from the water that was still rising around David. "Indie, stop it!" -
"Diana! You're not listening to me!" I shouted. "LISTEN TO ME, DARN IT! Akouste me!" I sent a rapid stream of water off to search for Percy, hoping he could help me with this.
