Arcelio bit his lip, looking sympathetically over at Rosario. "I talked to him, and... I really don't think he did it. I think it was Archer. You've just got to hear him out."
-
Rosario unbuckled right away, opening the door. "No. I'm not going to talk to him, and, unless you're going to freaking realize he's lying, I'm leaving right now. It wasn't Archer. It was him. It was his voice."
-
Arcelio's eyes widened, and he leaned over the seat to grasp Rosario's shirt sleeve. "Wait, no, please, I just want you to give it a chance. I don't care if you don't want to talk to him at all, I just need you to be at home so that I know where you are."
-
"No!" He shoved Arcelio back, shaking his head. "Mom was going to let me wait in the car, so, she can just come back here and pick me up."
-
-
"Ro, please," Arcelio started, but he quieted when Drake was looming behind Rosario.
"You can stay here, I'll stay too," Drake said, bending down so he was next to the boy's ear. -
"..Bye, Arcelio," He mumbled, moving to get out of the car, careful not to bump into Drake, though he moved to grasp his hand.
-
Arcelio sat back up straight, glaring daggers in Drake. The boy only returned the gesture, holding onto Rosario's hand as they both went back up to the house.
-
Rosario didn't breathe until the door closed behind him. When he did, though, he turned to head upstairs. "I'm going to the bathroom. I feel sick," He mumbled, taking the steps two at a time before heading into the bathroom, locking the door behind him.
-
Arcelio slammed Rosario's door shut by leaning across the seats, and then hurried to drive back home and meet everyone there.
Drake watched out the window to make sure Arcelio left before he hurried upstairs, to follow Rosario. Finding the door to the bathroom locked, he sighed, and sat against the wall to wait for him. -
When Arcelio pulled up, Victory and Rayson were exchanging teary-eyed hugs, though they seemed to have a bit of distance between themselves. It wasn't a hug you would give to a lover, but rather a best friend.
When Arcelio's car stopped, Rayson was the first at the door, wearing a frown.
Rosario, however sick he felt, had nothing in his stomach to throw up, and ended up leaning over the toilet coughing. -
sighs
-
Arcelio felt a sickness welling up in him, a terrible nervousness when Rayson came up beside the car. He was in the way of the door, so Arcelio just rolled down the window. "I found him," he said simply, shrugging.
Drake could tell that Ro was having troubles, and he was relatively sure of what was wrong. At the same time, he knew he wouldn't be able to get the boy to stomach any food, and the next best thing would be to have him drink some water so that he wouldn't be dry heaving. "There are some cups on the counter, can you drink some water?" He asked. -
Rayson's frown grew, and he furrowed his brow. "Where is he, then?"
The boy managed to get up, unlock the door, before returning to the toilet. "Mhm," He mumbled, though he was sure Drake couldn't have heard him. -
Arcelio felt like a guilty child, avoiding Rayson's gaze. "He wouldn't come with me so he stayed with Drake again."
What Drake did hear was the door unlocking, so he stood, opening the door and entering. He went straight to the sink to fill up a little plastic cup of water, going to Rosario with it afterwards.
