Rosario was pretty much in too much pain to function. He hated crying, but that was what he was doing. Pretty much bawling his eyes out, and in front of Arcelio, no less. But, damn, it hurt, so much.
He had to calm down. Rosario drew his hand away from Arcelio's, placing both of his palms on the dash, trying to control his breathing. -
Arcelio was biting his lip, trying to think of what to do. He was in route to the hospital already, but he wouldn't know what to say once they were there. Looking back and forth between the road and his phone, he called Rayson, taking this one off of speaker to hold to his ear.
-
Rayson answered almost immediately. "Hey? Arcelio? I was just about to call you. I called the house and no one picked up, so.. Where are you?"
-
"I'm in the car," Arcelio answered him. "With Ro. We're going- I'm taking him to the hospital," he stated, chewing the inside of his cheek. "He can't talk, he's crying, his side hurts or something... We don't have any papers for him."
-
"Which side? What road are you on. Pull over. I'll be there in a minute. Hang on-" He pulled the phone away from his ear, talking to one of his co workers. And then he took off towards the parking lot at a run. "Just hold on. I'll be there."
-
Arcelio complied, telling him where they were and pulling over at the curb. He was a little uneasy about it, because he felt like Ro needed some medical attention, but Rayson would know what to do better than him. "Please hurry, okay?"
-
"Okay. I love you. Tell Ro I love him. Bye." With that, the man hung up.
Rosario had managed to gain control over himself a bit, and stop crying. He was still gripping the dash tightly, though, his eyes closed.
Rayson was there within five minutes, pulling his car up behind Arcelio's. He got out, and hurried to the passenger's door, opening it. -
Arcelio set his phone down, leaning over towards Rosario. The boy wasn't sobbing like before, but he was still in very obvious pain. He felt he had to do something other than just sit there staring at him with worry, so he started talking to him.
"Ray said he loves you. And he'll be here soon. He'll know what to do, you know him, all old and wise and whatnot." -
Rosario couldn't work out a response before Rayson got there, picking him up bridle style. The older man glanced down at Arcelio, furrowing his brow. "We can't take him to the hospital. Too many questions. I.. I need.. You said you saw Janette, right?"
-
Arcelio blinked at his question, trying to register the suggestion. "Yes, but... We can't bring him to her. You don't even know where she lives, and how would we know we can trust her?"
-
"She was a nurse. She could help him, and.. You're right, nevermind. I don't know what to do, Arcelio." He closed his eyes, shaking his head.
-
Arcelio removed his seat belt, crawling over the console so that he was in the passenger seat. He looked up at Rayson and Rosario, chewing his lip. "Well we have to do something."
-
Rayson had to take a moment to think. He had almost used up all his favors, but there was one person here that would possibly be able to help him. He opened his eyes, moving to set Rosario in Arcelio's lap. "Hold him. We're going to the hospital after all." With that, he went to the drivers side, pulling onto the rode.
-
Arcelio, though a little confused by the sudden change of plans, held onto Rosario in his lap. It made him a bit nervous to be riding without a seat belt, but he firgured that should be the least of his worries. "Babe. Your car?"
-
Rosario had pretty much passed out while he was in Rayson's arms, so that was that. "Don't worry about it. I'll call someone to get it when we get there." He was kind of breaking the speed limit, though he didn't care.
