Rayson held the child, bouncing him gently on his knee. He looked over at Daniel, and furrowed his brow, but kept silent.
Suddenly, Daniel's cell phone went off. He took it out, looked at the number, and answered right away. "Hello? ..Micheal, oh, sweetheart, hi. What? ..No, no, stay where you are! Don't call anyone. ..Alright, I'm going to give the phone to your grandpa. I'll be there soon, okay? I love you. ..Here." Daniel had gone from half asleep to wide awake. He held the phone out to Arcelio, eyes full of panic. One word escaped his mouth before he took off towards the door.
"Archer."
"Irving, Texas. I can get out, and meet you at a hotel. Um.. Um, Omni Mandalay Hotel? It's near Lake Carolyn. They talk about it a lot here, so I can figure out where it is." Rosario kept his voice low, fearing that someone would hear him. -
Arcelio was a little confused at first, but took the phone. His heart stopped at what Daniel said, and he quickly brought the phone to his ear. "Michael, sweety, it's grandpa, what's up?"
Seeing Daniel run off, and not wanting to be left alone with the indeed creepy uncles, Monty went chasing right after Daniel towards the door.
"T-Texas?" Daniel paled. "I don't have a passport, I can't cross the border without it," he said, murmuring so his dad wouldn't hear. -

Micheal was crying and breathing hard. "M-M-My daddy's d-d-dead," He sobbed, voice breaking with almost every syllable. "He told m-me to g-go.. Go to t-the pantry a-and call-call D-Dad. A-And I did, a-and there's b-blood on m-my feeeeet," He started full of bawling then, and it was a good thing that the man who had killed Allen had already left.
Rayson was frozen, eyes wide. He watched Monty take off after Daniel, and sat Gus down carefully, running off after the two boys.
Daniel, as soon as he was out, waved down a taxi. He knew Allen had a plane ticket waiting for him, but it would take hours to get home.. His hands shook as he tried to get one of the cabs to notice him.
"..I know. Um.. How long would it take?" He asked, chewing on his lip. -
Arcelio, of course, didn't know if anyone was still in Michael's house. Quickly, he hushed the boy. "Shhh, hunny, it's okay. Your daddy's on the way to come take care of you. I'll be there soon too, I promise just stay where you are." Despite the other people at their tables staring at him, Arcelio picked up gus with one arm, still talking to Michael while his other hand held the phone, and he hurried out to follow everyone else out.
Monty wasn't sure what Daniel was doing, but he stepped in front of him, looking at him with furrowed eyebrows. "What exactly is going on here?"
"Ahm..." Drake thought. There would be no way it would take less than a month to get a passport, so he just decided he'd go about it in a less legal way. "I'll be there in two days." -
"Th-There's b-blood," He sobbed, repeating those two words three times, before crying softly. Rayson stared at Arcelio when he arrived, frowning. "..Take Daniel and Gus to a hotel. I'll got get Micheal."
Daniel shook his head at Monty. "You.. I really can't tell you. Family emergency, alright?"
"Two days? Oh, Drake, don't do anything stupid," Rosario pleaded, clinging to the phone. -

"I know, hunny, I'm sorry," Arcelio said quietly to Michael. He sighed, nodding to Rayson. "Please be careful."
Monty moved his feet, then sighed. "Okay. Well, you have my number, if you want to call. I'm going to go back," he decided, turning back towards the campus to walk back.
"I won't, baby, I'll be careful, I promise," Drake said, but he wasn't too sure. -

thank yoooou)
The boy didn't respond this time, and, suddenly, the line went dead. Rayson was already in a taxi, having taken off. Daniel stood on the sidewalk, pale and defeated.
"..I love you. So much. I'll see you soon," He promised. -
(Yeah~)
Arcelio heart stopped when the line died, but he knew it would be best to not hint to Daniel that anything was wrong. He quietly handed Daniel his phone back and said, "We're going to a hotel for a while."
"I love you too, Boo, more than anything else. Call me when you can," he said, trying to appreciate what little time he had left to talk to Rosario. -
"..I-I.. Okay." Daniel was blank, and silently slipped his phone into his pocket, clinging to Arcelio's free arm like a child.
"I will. I love you. I have to go. Bye." Rosario hung up, and hid the phone, leaving the supply closet. -
Arcelio was glad that Daniel didn't put up a fight. As he started walking, he knew he should do something to cheer Danny up, so he said, "You should call that boy back, Danny, that Monty. He goes to med school."
Drake stuffed his phone in his pocket, and just as soon as he did, he went running out of his room. His dad wasn't home, so he quickly packed up some apples, bread and a Lunchable into a lunch bag and ran out the door. He clipped the bag onto his bike's bag, and off he went, going at a not-so-legal speed towards the American border. -
Daniel nodded, but stayed silent, staring straight ahead. He knew he should, but Daniel didn't feel like doing anything other than hoping that Micheal was okay.
There was no one waiting outside, to Rosario breathes, heading down the hall. They still had everyone watching him, but he wasn't being stalked anymore.
When he rounded the corner, he caught sight of a head of dirty blonde curls, and sighed, realizing that he'd have to take her with him. "Hey, Avery. Can I talk to you for a second? Um, privately?" He shot a look at the girl she was talking to, who raised her eyebrows, shrugged, and walked off. -
Arcelio sighed after a minute, when he didn't get a verbal answer. Gus broke the silence, gah-ing and reaching towards Daniel. "Would you maybe like to hold the baby for a second? I think he wants to give you a try."
Drake wasn't gone too long until texts and calls started rolling in from his dad, who must have gotten home to find him gone. Obviously, he was rather concerned for the boy who'd been in a constant state of a mental breakdown for the past few days. -
The young man stared at Gus for a second, but took him, bouncing him gently on his hip. After a second or two, he pressed a kiss to the side of Gus' head, sighing. "Take him, please.."
It didn't take long for him to convince Avery to come with him. She met him at the exit that night, with a bag packed, and they left.
(Soooo time skip?)
