Alex walked over to Cyril and smiled. "Stay out of trouble okay?" He leaned in and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back soon." He nodded at Karmisha before grabbing his suddenly clean cloak and leaving. Karmisha shook her head, "He's loco about you."
-
Cyril smiled after him before turning her attention to Karmisha, blushing a little. "You really think so?" She sounded a little unsure.
-
Karmisha rolled her eyes and made a thick leather boun book appear, black. "No. Of course I'm sure!" She huffed and shoved the book into her hands. "Now get to readin, he'll probably come back with more wounds for you to fix up."
-
Cyril hurriedly took the book and her eyes began scanning over the pages. The table of contents was filled with things about different herbs, healing spells, and ways to treat different kinds of wounds. She flipped to the section about hellhound bites.
-
Karmisha began to flutter around the kitchen, making things float out of the fridge or cabnits. "Now what else.." Soon the smell of omlets, hash browns, and pancakes filled the kitchens space.
Alex shadow travled to the first place he met Cyril. Blinking, he paused. It seemed to quiet.. Frowning he manifested two hell hounds and send them to go investigate. Only one came back. "So.. They think they can play games do they?" He muttered with a growl. -
Sorry!)
Cyril sighed happily to herself, enjoying the delicious smell wafting from the kitchen. She continued reading. -
He walked into the building and looked around. An arrow shot from somewhere and he grabbed it before it hit him. "Come on out.." He chuckled and turned out the lights with a flick of his hand.
(It's okay~) -
Cyril tried to focus on the reading. Apparently there was a certain herb that was especially helpful for hellhound bites. She'd have to ask about it. But in the back of her mind, she worried about Alex. What sort of "work" did he do that made him come in covered in blood?what if he got hurt? She frowned and tried to direct her attention back to the book.
-
Suddenly a man lept at him from the shadows, mouth full of shark like teeth. With a flick of his hands he tightened shadows aroun his throat and promptly took off the mans head. "You know, I work best in darkness seeing as you can't see me at all." He called into the pitch black room. "You must understand half-breed.. We found out who you're really working for." A voice mused from somewhere in the dark.
-
Cyril finally put the book down, having finished the section she'd been digesting. Turning, she called out, "Um, Karmisha? What's Alex's work?" The curiosity and worry were getting to her. She wanted to know.
-
Karmisha was almost done cooking. "He's a Guardian, he keeps everything balanced here and keeps it in order." She said simply with a small frown.
Alex sucked in a breath and turned to look at a man with a glowing red eye and a glowing blue eye. "You know, I thought we could bring you in.. Make you one of us but it seems like the one thing you swore off got you caught up." The man sneered and slashed out, drawing a long cut across his cheek. Alex hissed and backed up. "Or maybe.. She's turning you into one of us?" -
Cyril frowned as well in reply. "Does he do a lot of fighting?" She asked in a small voice. The thought of him getting hurt worse than last night, the memory of his scarlet-stained cloak...She didn't know if she could handle that.
-
Karmisha sighed and looked at her with one hand on her hip. "Look, he kills the ones who want to kill humans. He gets hurt. He heals. He repeats." She said it simply like it was nothing, and it wasn't to them.
Alex shook his head. "No, I'm myself." He growled and was suddenly attacked by two men who put a cord around his neck and yanked him back. Struggling for air he swung out his leg in a back kick and one of them dropped. Snarling, he turned around and sunk his sword into the ones chest before turning and slicing the other one in half, torso and chest slid apart. -
Cyril's eyes widened. "That's awful!" Killing others daily was normal for him. Getting injured was routine. "How could anyone live like that...?" She said softly, more to herself than to the healer. She had the sudden urge to feel his embrace again. It felt so much safer there, in the warmth of his arms. She knew he'd protect her. But there was no one to protect him...
-
"Because no one else has the balls to do it." She said simply. "If he wasn't here, then this whole world would be in chaos. He did have a helper, his sister but she was killed in a raid." Her voice got softer and she sighed.
Alex turned to look at the man but he was gone. "You always leave the dirty work to the goons.." He muttered before an arrow was in his shoulder. Sucking in a pain filled breath he stalked up the steps to find the culprit.
