She stared at the wall. "I wonder if I'll ever make it big.." She rolled onto her side, staring at her dresser. Then, rolling to her other side, she stared at the mirror. "I'm not one to worry about my looks.. I wonder if that's why I'm still so low in the ranks?"
-
"Amelia...Amelia...Amelia~" He said, his voice singsong. "None of the other girls compare to your radiance. Your talent outshines them all. Your time will come, when those incompetent directors finally open their eyes."
He leaned against the wall. In truth, he'd been sending letters to the directors for years, ever since he discovered Amelia and her talent, demanding they put her in the lead. But they were men, and men succumbed to pride easily. Because the 'Phantom' had demanded, they refused to do so. It was all so infuriating. If only the owner, Madam LaRae, still ran the Opera House. -
Amelia finally sat up, her hair sticking up a bit. She walked over to the dresser, grabbing a brush. She skipped to the mirror. A smile on her face, she began to brush out her blonde hair.
"Maybe I should sing a song as a warm up.. Hmmm.. What should it be?" She put a finger on her lips, sighing. Then, she started to sing quite softly, "I've been dreaming of a true love's kiss.. And a prince, I'm hoping, comes with this. That's what brings ever-aftering so happy.. That's the reason we need lips so much, for lips are the only things that touch. So to spend a life of endless bliss, just find who you love through true love's kiss." When she had finished, she looked at the floor. -
He put a hand to the mirror, watching her approvingly. How far she'd come. And it was all thanks to him and his intervention. He was her Angel of Music, and always would be. And she his.
But of course, she didn't know who he was. She only heard his voice, never saw his face. She probably hadn't even connected the dots to the fact that he was Madam LaRae's 'Blaire Phantom'. -
She started singing a steady stream of songs, leaning her forehead on the mirror. Her eyes were shut the whole time she was singing. After she had gone through a good four or five, she pulled her head away to check the time. It seemed she had enough time to sing just a few more.
Amelia spent the rest of her time leaning her head against the mirror and singing. For a moment, she felt like she was singing to someone, but to who? She foolishly looked around. No one else was in the room. She chuckled to herself, a hand to her head. "Silly me." -
He smiled to himself, then checked the time on his watch. He frowned, he needed to go if he was to make it back to his box in time for her performance.
He spun around, cloak flowing around him, and began the walk back. -
Amelia pulled away from the mirror, checking to make sure she looked proper. From there, she began her walk to the back of the stage. Her dress swung back and forth as she walked. She hummed while walking. The day was still young, and she was happy.
As soon as she got to where she had to be, she checked out the rest of the cast. There wasn't too many people this time. She prayed she'd get a chance to have more shows. "Five.. Four, three... Two, one-" Amelia was shoved out from behind the curtains onto the stage. -
The Phantom made it in time, and remained standing, watching with expectation for Amelia. When he saw her, he allowed a small smile to cross his face. Only a little longer, and she'd be the star. He figured the directors just needed a bit more convincing.
(Think my favorite song from the movie is called I Remember/Stranger than you Dreamt it. Creepy as hell, sends chills down my spine) -
She quickly went into action, twirling every few lines, making sure she stayed in tune with the other singers. Her eyes fluttered across the crowd from time to time. Suddenly, the others stopped singing, and they let her finish off the song. She was blushing furiously as they all scuddled off the stage.
(xD Then why do you like it..?) -
The Phantom had left right before it ended, but had still heard it all. He had went to her room and left a vase of roses on her dresser, with a note that read 'To my dearest Amelia, from Your Angel of Music'.
He stayed on the other side of the mirror, waiting for her as always. The door was cracked faintly, so she'd hear his voice better, but still closed enough she couldn't notice it.
(I like creepy. Creepy is amazing.)
(We should make this a love triangle thing like the actual Phantom of The Opera. Likeeee..Amelia meets an old childhood friend and falls in love with him and begins to neglect the Phantom~) -
Amelia scurried back to her room, sighing. She had probably looked bad, or sang bad. Maybe the crowd saw her blush. Maybe they disliked her voice. She snapped out of it when she saw the roses. "Oh..!" She squealed with delight, hurrying over to see who had given them to her. She knew right before she read the note.
"..Oh, my Angel of Music. You're always hidden.. I've never met you before." She picked the vase up, sitting on her bed. She cuddled the object like it was a human being. "I should like to hear your voice, or see you!" Amelia said suddenly. "Why do you have to hide? I know you can't hear me, but.."
(Ah.)
(;A; but then I'd feel bad /rolls on floor) -
He hesitated. Should he really speak to her? Ah, but now was the time, after all. He had arrangements made to make her the star.
"Why do you wish to see me, little star? Why do you wish to hear my voice?" He said in his singsong voice, smiling faintly. "Amelia~"
(But it'd be interesting and fun and cooomeee on.xD I can roleplay him if you want~) -
She happily looke up from the flowers. She didn't see him, but she could hear him. "Well, you've given me so many gifts, and.. I'd like to thank you for each and everyone one of them." She stood, setting the vase down. "And I'd like to be able to look at you from the stage.. Maybe I'd do better at it. Can't I see you just once?"
(Oh, fine. but Phantom's gonna kill him right and kidnap Amelia and s---) -
(Yes, of course! ^-^)
He paused for a moment, then shook his head, though he knew she couldn't see him.
"I'm afraid that cannot happen. But know I'm always here. And I think your time is coming. Soon you'll be the star."
Name: Raphael Vandesdelca
Age: 21
Other: Father is a big sponsor to the Opera. He recently found out Amelia, his childhood friend, was preforming there, and rushed to this city just to catch a glimpse of her, in hopes she remembered him. -
"Oh, alright. How would you know?" She tilted her head a bit. She decided it would be best not to ponder about it for too long. Instead, she stood, going to the door. "I'm going to get something for you, okay? Once I get it, feel free to get it whenever. I'll set it beside the lovely vase you brought me." She pinned her hair up with a few hair pins, slinging her bag over her shoulder. She walked out of the room.
