Dove woke up by the loud alarm buzzing like a bird chirping on a morning. She slammed the clock to make it shutup and she quickly went back to sleep. -
"Your Highness?...Your Highness?" The calls were followed by the sound of a fist rapping loudly on the large ornate doors. The room's resident was still asleep, and the only response to the sounds was a low mumble. "Should I go in?" "No, no, but-" "Oh, stop blabbering! I'll wake him!" The doors to Prince Jared's chamber slammed open, and two people entered. One was a short, portly woman wearing a maid's uniform. The other was a young man, about the prince's age, dressed well in the uniform of a palace guard captain. The man was by the bedside in two long strides, the maid scurrying behind him. "Prince Jared," The woman murmured, shaking him lightly. The prince only groaned softly, rolling over in his large bed. The captain smiled, an evil gleam in his eye, and he stepped closer. Grabbing a pillow, he put a finger to his lips, motioning for the maid to keep quiet. Without a word, he thrust the pillow down, smacking the prince in the fave hard. With a startled cry, his eyes shot open and he leapt from the bed. His white-blonde hair was sticking up at odd angles. His eyes narrowed at the other man, who chuckled, dropping the pillow down. "Dammit, Russ! What was that for?!" The captain raised an eyebrow, grinning amusedly. "It was to wake your ass up. Today's the day Princess Dove is coming to stay with us." "She'll be arriving soon, and you need to be ready." The woman cut in, informing the prince of the situation. He sighed, still looking a bit disgruntled. "Fine, whatever." He scowled at Russ. "If you weren't an old friend I'd have your head." "I know you would," The captain replied with a laugh. "Come on Clarisse. We'll leave sour-puss here to get ready." The two of them exited the large chamber, Russ still chuckling to himself. Muttering to himself, Jared rubbed his eyes and yawned. "Guess I'd better get ready...Whoasked that stupid princess to intrude my castle anyway...?" The castle, of course, belonged to Jared's father, King Jeffrey. But the annoyed young man didn't really mind his words much.

Dove had slept for about an hour until realizing that she had to be visting King Jeffrey's castle. She groaned and got out of bed and by the time she got up her maids basically knocked the door down, they were sweating and puffing and they looked very red and exhausted. "Princess Dove" Maid Marion exclaimed. "You are very, very, very late. Your mother and father are very angry at you". Dove yawned and didn't look the least intimidated by the Maids words. "Anyways! We have all of your 456 dresses! What shall you wear there? You dont wanna be like the Duchess of St. Layson, do you? Eat this raw fish, It'll make your skin wonderful!" Dove yelled "Get out!!" And kicked them out and slammed the door. Dove knew exactly what she would wear and it wouldn't be the dresses her Mother had ordered from a special place. Dove quickly got dressed in her picked out Civilian clothing and ran down the long turning stairs and saw her Mother and Father ordering around the poor, tired, maids and housekeepers. "Queen Maria, We are very sorry.. But Dove didn't let us dress her." The Maids exclaimed all at once. "You all should be punished, But you did try your best. So, go off on your duties now." Queen Maria said with a special twinkle in her eye. "Yes, Queen Maria" they all said it at once and hurried off to clean the big kingdom. Dove landed on the platform and saw her Mother glance at her. "What are you wearing?" said Queen Maria. "Um, clothes? No, duh." exclaimed Dove. "In tradition, we dont wear civilian clothes to another kingdom." Said Queen Maria angrily. Dove shrugged off and rudely walked away to the front door of the castle and said to herself "Well, this is it.."

Jared glanced distastefully at the intricate robes that hung waiting for him. He shook his head, not quite believing that anyone expected him to wear that. He quickly undressed from his bedclothes, pulling on an outfit that would make him easily blend in with the commoners. Who cares what that princess thinks of me. She's just another nuisance. No need to dress up. He ran his hands through his hair, smoothing it down slightly, before exiting his room. He snuck into the kitchen, stealing a couple of apples despite the chef's protests. The prince entered the throne room, a long open chamber with two beautifully decorated chairs at one end. In it sat the king and queen. King Jeffery glanced at his son with the same gray-blue eyes Jared had. His russet-colored beard was cut cleanly and his regal scarlet robes were spotless. Queen Karina sat beside her husband, looking quite dissapointed by her son's indignities clothing choice. Her white-blonde curls showed no signs of gray, but the slight wrinkles in her face betrayed her age. "Jared." She said sharply. "You know what I'm going to say, don't you..." She sighed, pausing to smooth out her dress, a pale pink gown with delicate gold designs on it. The young prince's mood darkened. "Yes, and I don't care. I like these clothes, and you can't stop me from wearing them." -
Dove looked up at King Jeffrey's castle. She waited until her Mother and Father had come up with her to the castle. She looked at her Mom and Dad scolding the drivers about not driving so goddamn fast. Dive sighed and immediately open the castle door and went inside. "Oh, my god.." exclaimed Dove when she gasp.

"Yes, son, but please-" "Your highness!" A servant burst into the throne room, causing all three members of the royal family to look up in surprise. "The King, Queen, and Princess have arrived." King Jeffrey stood up. "Yes, of course." Karina stood up too, and taking her husband's hand they entered the main hall, followed by a sulking Jared.

"This place.. Is.. totally beast!" yelled Dove. Her mother glared at her for talking in such a lazy teenager manner. Dove looked up and saw King Jeffrey, Queen Karina, and.. a son?
"Mom, Hey... I totally did not hear that they had a son!" exclaimed Dove. "We have told you millions of times, dear." Dove slapped her head, she was totally clueless and stupid but didnt care one bit. That boy can trash talk her about not being girly, and she wouldnt care one bit. She didnt have time to focus on boys right now, Dove was in the Jeffreys family castle now.

Jared stifled a smile at the girl's outburst. She was unusual, nothing like the prim and proper princesses of the other lands he'd visited. He grinned slightly at the girl, crossing his arms and looking a bit impressed. -

Dove had kept twirling with pride around the castle. She was ignoring her parents letures and kept goofing around. She opened her eyes and stopped afor a split second and glared at Jared. "Got a problem, Then say it." shr said grimily.
