He shrugged. "My teacher never got used to it. But I slowly am." He looked down at her. "How old are you?"

"Nineteen." She reached over and took his hand.

"Hm...so I'm older than you by two years. That's interesting." He held onto her hand tightly, not wanting to lose her in the crowd.

"My birthday's in a month," she told him. "So unless you're turning twenty-two soon, it's a little less." This was childish.

He shook his head. "My birthday is a bit farther away. Probably five months away." They finally got out of the village.

"Oh. So yeah, not quite two years."

He nodded and kept walking.

They walked along in silence for a while.

He remembered he had his wine and unclipped the pouch from his side. He took a small drink of it and sighed lightly. "Nice."

She watched, kind of surprised that he'd had the wine the entire time.

He looked at her. "What? Surprised I drink?"

"Definitely not. Surprised you had it on you."

He shrugged. "I usually have some on me when I want some."

"Can I have a drink?" she asked.

He looked down at her. "I don't know if you'd like it."
