Tanner stared down at his hand. It didn't hurt that bad. It was pretty small, too, compared to what usually happened. He sat in the corner. Tanner's blood that was on the scalpel gleamed as he kicked it as far away as possible.
-
Nik picked up the scalpel and tossed it in the sink. He got a bandage and some cotton and went over to the experiment. He placed the cotton on the wound then wrapped the bandage around it to keep it in place. "Less talking, at least, if you insist on making noise," Nikolas muttered.
-
Tanner stared at him silently. There were too many things going on in his head. He knew he wouldn't be able to stay quiet for too long. And, much to Tanner's disapproval, he asked, "What's your name?"
-
Nikolas looked at Tanner's face and let go of his hand. "Nikolas," he said then walked over to the table where his notebook was and recorded the previous event.
-
Tanner finally was able to fall silent. He watch's Nikolas's every move. Being a teen, and despite the fact he had missed lots of things in life, he was growing mischievous. He held out his hand. The notebook was soon there. With a smug face, he also took a writing tool, and began to doodle.
-
*watched
-
Nikolas looked up in surprise. "Hey, that's my work!" He said angrily as he quickly retrieved his notebook.
-
"That was my work, too." Tanner's half smile quickly disappeared, his face going back to it's normal, almost upset look. He leaned back against the wall. The drawing on the page wasn't your average doodle. Tanner had been drawing a portrait of Nikolas.
-
Nikolas stopped as he realized what the drawing was then he tore the page out of the notebook and handed it back to the experiment. "There." He then walk back to the table and continued to write down these events.
-
He happily set it beside him. If he had something to draw with, he'd finish it, but having something more than fake sheep felt good. He laid down once more, folding the picture, putting it in his pant's pocket for safekeeping.
(I'm going to go to sleep. Night~) -
Nikolas continued to write down the events with the experiment. After he was done with that he closed the notebook and sat down on the stool, glancing at the experiment once more.
(Okay, night.) -
Tanner was busy thinking about things outside of the lab. What is life like, not being in a corner? What is a restaurant? What's a cat? He was glad he at least knew what some things were, like butterflies and dogs.
-
Nikolas proceeded to sit around, not knowing what to do to occupy his time.
-
"What's a cat?" Tanner asked out loud. He looked over at Nikolas, curiousity overcoming his natural sense to stay quiet. "Some of the other scientists were saying that they owned one.. Are they like dogs? What do they look like? Can I touch one?"
-
Nikolas frowned. "Uhh, a cat's an animal. They aren't really like dogs. They look like, uhh, cats, and maybe you can sometime," he said, trying to answer all of the questions.
