Power's out, won't be on, don't know how long.)
Erica's eyes widened and she smiled. "R-Really?" The servants nodded. She was overjoyed. She hasn't seen her parents for years, and though they were always a room away, it seemed like they were on a different planet. Victoria had been so young...they all had. But she still wanted to see them. Julliet simply nodded. Should she be happy about this? She did miss them, but after they had shut their daughters out for so many years... -
(Ok, thanks for telling me.)
Victoria skipped behind the Royal Adviser. They would finally see their parents. Except, they didn't seem like parents because she had been four years old when they stopped coming to she her. But now, they wanted to see her! Well, all of the siblings but Victoria was too happy to remind herself of that. -
Power's back!! :D)
Erica watched Victoria skip along through the hall. Of course, she would've loved to join her, but she was a princess. She needed to act like it. But Erica didn't hesitate to walk a little faster than usual to get to the throne room.
Julliet simply walked. Someone needed to act properly among them, and since the king and queen were too busy to be parents, she felt she had to be the mature one. Deep inside, sometimes she longed to run and skip, but she couldn't. Sighing to herself, she walked just a bit faster, to keep up with her overjoyed sisters. -
Yay :D)
Victoria came to a stop behind the Royal Adviser once he stopped in front of the Throne Room doors. The doors opened. Victoria could see her parents siting on the thrones. She wanted to run to them, but he Royal Adviser shook his head, as if he expected her to do so. -
Julliet kept her expression even, and stepped into the large room, head held high.
Erica practically leapt into the room, smiling eagerly. -
Victoria walked in last, behind Erica. They were always told to go in by order of birth, so Victoria was always last. Even so, she had a huge smile on her face. She would finally see her parents again!
-
(Bump~)
-
Sorry!)
Juliet closed her eyes and sighed before opening them again. She regarded her parents with a look of slight scorn and accusation.
Erica stopped beside Julliet, smiling shyly at them. -
Victoria stood beside Erica. She looked at her mother. Their eyes locked. The queen's eyes were warm and welcoming. Victoria looked her father. His eyes were serious and dull. Victoria thought that her parents radiated completely different auras. Her mother stood, "Hello, girls. I know that... We have many things to apologize for..."
-
Julliet nodded, but stayed silent.
Erica smiled at her father. They had once shared a special bond. Why would things change? -
The king looked at Erica with a pained expression. Almost like what was going to happen next would break his heart. The queen took a deep breath, "We're sorry for leaving you. We're also sorry for granting you our gift."
-
'For leaving you.' Those words echoed in Julliet's mind. They hadn't just left. they had dissapeared. the three of them had been raised almost like orphans because of them. With her powers she could feel the regret rolling off of them, but she didn't react.
Erica stayed quiet. She longed to run to her father, to feel his embrace once more, but for some reason, she felt as though she couldn't. -
The King stood now. "We granted you with the gift of Magic. I am very sorry for that. Because now..." Their mother, the queen finished, "We might die. The barrier has taken most of our life force. When we die, because you have magic, you will be forced to... To... To enforce the barrier with your own magic."
Victoria heard her mother's voice crack a few times. But her mind was focused on something else. They were going to... Die? -
Julliet looked away. This was no surprise to her, but...They had dissapeared for years. Now, they finally wanted to see them, only to hand them the burden they were too weak to handle anymore.
A gasping sob escaped from Erica's lips. "No!" She wailed. She couldn't help it. She ran to her father, hugging him tightly. -
Victoria felt tears trickle down her face. Her legs failed her and she fell onto her bum. Victoria looked up at their parents. Why?
The king hugged his daughter. Then he stood along with the queen. "We will see you at dinner. You are dismissed." Then they stood and walked away. Victoria watched them leave sadly, her tears staining her face.
