She reached the outskirts of the woods and paused, knowing she'd be leaving Jaxon's territory. Shifting, she shook her head and furiously wiped away the tears, hating her weakness. She'd just move on. There were other packs out there.
-
He shifted and stormed into the building with pure rage on his face. His pack mates shied away from him as he stormed upstairs.
-
Fighting the inner pain, she stepped over the boundary and walked north. She had no idea where she was headed, as long as she was away.
Lara was still on the couch as Jaxon stormed in. She watched him stalk past with worried eyes, and hesitated going after him. She was so confused about being a mom.
(So much drama.) -
Jaxon went to his room and grabbed a glass cup on his night stand. Once it was in his hands he threw it at the wall with a loud bash.
-
Flight ended up on a road. She walked alongside it for a little while, wrapping her arms around herself as she started to get colder.
Lara heard the crash and balled her fists, walking upstairs and knocking on her son's door. "Jaxon? Let me in." -
"No." He said stubbornly and sounded like a little kid.
-
"I know how to pick locks." She snapped right back.
Flight's feet curled on the cold pavement. She didn't know where she was going, how far she was traveling. -
"I know how to baracade my door an leap from a really tall building." He said but sat down on the edge of his bed. He was loosing the fight in him.
-
"Yes, but you won't do that because you have a pack to care for and a mother whom you barely know. Unlock the door." Lara stood back and crossed her arms.
-
Unlocks the door and looks at. Defeated. "Yes...?"
-
"What is it?" Lara asked in a gentle voice, looking him in the eye.
Flight started jogging after a little while, mainly to keep warm. She'd left the woods behind, and now there was only the road and fenced in fields with cattle and horses. She couldn't risk shifting; anyone could see her. -
"I showed Flight the old house and she took off. So I ran after her and she elbowed me in the stomach and told me to never touch her again. So I won't." He said simply even though it hurt as he said this.
-
Lara blinked and walked inside. "Do you love her?" She asked simply.
A car drove past with the windows down, and Flight heard one of the teen boys in it whistle at her mockingly. She sneezed in the dust left behind by the car, and shivered as a gust of wind hit her. -
Jaxon looked away. "I.. Think I do." He said quietly.
-
"Then get your ass out there and don't you dare let her get away." Lara said, "And then talk it over. Too many teenagers let the people they care about get away."
Trembling, Flight finally stopped walking and made her way into a ditch. She shifted into her wolf form and felt her whole body warm up as the fur covered her. Curling into a tight ball, she tried to ignore the emotions that threatened to overwhelm her now that she was still.
