He nuzzled her and hugged her tightly. "I love you." He whispered, he felt himself breaking. He might not come back after all.

"I love you too...I want to go with you...I-I want to keep you safe." She cuddled him.

He sighed softy and kissed he head softly. "I know I know.."

She looked up at him. "Then let me come, please let me come."

"I can't." He said softly an looked down at her. He wouldn't let her get hurt.

"Yes you can! You know what, just go, if you do make it out, don't come back don't ever come the hell back!" She pushed away from him and tears spilled down her face, she ran to her room and flames curled around her.

Damien looked at the ceiling and rubbed his face. He got up and tore a pepper from his notebook. He wrote something on it and then her name after he folded it. He grabbed his gear and slipped out the window.

Mary lied on her bed for hours after she heard him leave. Oreo curled up next to her and she left burn marks on her bed sheets. She was upset, she was angry, then...she felt guilt. She couldn't do anything now. She really couldn't fix things. She cuddled Oreo. "I messed up Oreo...I messed up."

By this time, he was almost towards the center. He was covered in blood and some wounds. He winced as he tried to catch his breath and not think about Mary.

She sat up quickly and ran to her fire escape. She the, after tripping and running down the stairs on it, finally got to the park. That park where she met him at. The place that started everything. She went behind on tree and sat down, waiting. Just waiting.

A rip sounded in the air, like thunder booming across the sky. Half-demon creatures screeched and came flying through the city with a mighty roar of flapping wings. But some, fell to the ground, dead before they went through the portal.

Mary looked up at the sky in horror. Demons...what ever they were, were flying out of a portal in the sky. A few fell quickly and others...others flew around making chaos. She didn't know what to do, but she had to do something.

Damien limped into the center of the lab. A huge blue portal was gleaming where the last of the creatures had stepped through. Scientist screeched with horror when they saw Damien, and quickly ducked or hid from him. One last person stood infront of the portal with a smirk.

Of course, poor Mary was trying to burn a few demons. It wasn't her fault she wasn't able to create enough fire and they were coming after her specifically. A few grabbed her arms and she grew angrier. "Leave me alone!!" Fire exploded around her, big enough to light up the sky.

Damien flew at the tall man and the two commenced into an epic battle of fist fighting. He suddenly hit Damien across the face and blood gushed from his nose. Scrambling away, Damien stuck a stick of explosives into the machine and tried to run. The man tackled Damien through the portal, they were hurtling towards solid concret now as the lab exploded an the portal closed.
