She perked up, hearing him. With a small smile she kicked her speed up a notch, being small and tiny had it's advantages. An the fact she's been at this for a long time.
-
He increased speed, but couldn't keep up. Didn't stop him from trying, though.
-
It didn't take her long to reach the old manor. It was tall and elegant with white paint and brown shudders an a front pourch. Ali sat down on the pourch swing and watched her surroundings.
-
Ben finally pulled up, chest heaving as he gasped down breath.
-
She lifted an eyebrow and grinned at him. "About time." She said standing up. Streatching out her back she looked back down at him.
-
He hopped up to her, "when do you want your kiss, babe?" he smiled.
-
"I'll collect later. Come on you have someone to meet." She walked over to the bright red door and knocked on it loudly an a few times. Soon the door swung open and a young girl about six stood in the door way with black hair into two braids, dark skinned, and big brown eyes. "Hey kiddo." She smiled. "Where Layla?" The small hold grinned and took Ali's hand. "She's in her office." She led the way that Ali already knew by heart.
-
Ben followed silently, staying just behind his girl.
-
The child led them up the winding steps and to a set of French doors. "Thank you Denny, go play with your brother." The little girl ran away clearly pleased with herself and her nickname. Ali walked inside and a older copy of the child at at her desk but with flowing dark brown hair. "Layla!" She grinned and the witch stood up smiling. "Well, look who it is.. And you brought a friend?"
-
He held the box with one hand, carefully watching the two.
-
"Ben.. Miss Layla. Layla, Ben." Pulls him next to her. Layla swept him with her gaze and held out a hand. "Nice to meet you fledgling. I must say his eyes went back to normal quickly." Chuckles.
-
"Ma'am," he replied, giving her hand a light squeeze.
-
"Polite too.. I like this one." Chuckles and looks back towards Ali. "Sun charm I'm assuming?" Ali nodded and handed her the black box. "Yes ma'am." She said with a shy smile like a child to a mother.
-
He glanced at Ali, noting her grin, and wondering if it meant something.
-
Layla nodded and opened the box. Inside was a mans ring made if silver with a crimson red center. It gleamed in the sun light. Layla walked outside on the balcony and left them do to her work. "She's a good lady." Ali sighed.
