"Not yet, I'm going to get mine when I graduate," he said. "I've got a hundred bucks on me, some more back at the house. We could go and buy something."

Shakes head and tugs off her ring. "Here. It was my dad's." Slips it on his finger. "I'll use my moms braclet to be charmed for me." Starts driving again.

He helped slide it on, "no, Ali. Its yours." Ben took it off and passed it back. "I need something that can be mine, you know?"

Sighs and takes it back pulling into a small shop. "You need something with meaning. Just buying something won't help." Rubs her temple.

"I know," he agreed. "Why don't..." he pondered for a moment. "You get me something? I'll buy it, but you pick it."

"I know a place, and it's on the way." Grins and starts driving once more. "It's about an hour away." Shrugs.

Ben nodded, "just drive, I'll supply the music," he said before starting the song.

She relaxed and became lost in her own thoughts as she listened to the music.

He leaned back and listened, smiling.

After awhile she pulled into a older looking store. "Stay here." She got out and walked inside.

He nodded, and tracked her with his eyes. Once she was gone, he started honing his senses, focusing on heartbeats.

After a moment she walked outside and into the car. She threw a sleek black box into his lap and backed out of the parking lot.

"The clerk has an irregular heartbeat," he announced, "bad for them." Ben eyed the box, "want me to open it, or wait?"

"Wait and good hearing." She started picking up speed. "He's an older man, weak heart. I'm assuming he's had a heart attack already and nigh have another one soon but will end in death." Shrugs.

"And I think there was a drug deal a little ways away," he reported.
