Xevy chortled in pleasure, and with a thunderous thump of his wings he had landed next to Bolt.
-
The girl took her time mounting the Pegasus, meticulously positioning herself. After a few moments of preparation, (adjusting the saddle, checking horseshoes) she patted Nyx's midnight flank and thought, Okay girl...fly! Nyx took two galloping steps before launching herself high into the air. Rowena wrapped her arms around the horse's strong neck, feeling muscles work beneath her pale fingertips. The pair swooped and dived, a graceful aerodynamic display of perfect control and concentration. Without warning, Nyx's broad wings snapped shut and she shot south in a brilliant dive. Rowena gasped and squeezed her eyes shut. She knew Nyx wouldn't hurt her, but the young angel preferred gentle flights. She could do without the thrills, thank you very much. Just as they were about to break the cloud barrier, which separated their world from something horrific, both wings snapped out, and they glided through the soft golden-hued clouds. Golden-hued?! Nyx...we're in light angel territory!
-
Emily concluded her meditation session and flew outside, where she spotted... A DARK ANGEL/DRAGON?!! She gasped, wings tensing.
-
Rowena's wide, frightened eyes locked onto the form of a glowing white angel. Panicked, she spurred her steed, only to have Nyx rear in fright from the sudden company. Row tumbled off, landed hard on her right arm. Pain shot through it, but she quickly stood. Grabbing the black pegasus's ruby-studded riding reigns, she began to run as fast as she could. Nyx galloped after. The horse didn't say anything, but waves of concern and confusion radiated across the two's link. Rowena kept running, hoping that the light angel wouldn't have the nerve to follow. Being a half-breed, she didn't really belong on either side, but her raven-like wings would make it all too obvious that she had ventured from dark angel territory. After a few more steps she hoisted herself back atop the sleek winged-ride's back. The two continued to race away from where Row had spotted the light angel.
-
Unfortunately, Emily DID follow. "Hey!" she shouted after them. "Who are you?? Get back here!" Although slightly timid, she remained brave, wings beating harder than ever before.
Xevy neighed, licking Bolt's face. Then he chuffed, "begging" for more oats. -
Rowena leaned forward, urging Nyx to go faster. The Pegasus neighed loudly in reply, lifting off. Rowena thought they were safe, but suddenly they wheeled around in midair, the black beast whinnying and kicking her silver hooves furiously. She galloped at their persuer, deaf to the opposing thoughts of her rider. With a snort of determination, Nyx lowered her head, charging joust-style at the light angel before them. Rowena, seeing that she was no longer in control, squeezed her eyes shut and hoped for the best.

(I'm here! Sorry)
Emily dodged a few blinding clouds and thrust forward. Now close enough, she yanked Nyx's harness and hoped this would stop them. -
It's fine!!)
Nyx whinnied in alarm when her reigns were yanked, stopping her dead in her tracks. Now, it wasn't just the fact that she had been caught by an enemy that frightened the defiant mare, but the sudden pull on her harness seemed to trigger a surplus of memories, all of which surfaced. Not only was she being handled by someone who wasn't her rider, but she was being controlled. Her dark cocoa eyes widened as she remembered loud shouts from a large man with wings dark as night. Her petrified mind conjured up an image of the same powerful dark angel, holding a whip. The weapon radiated shadows, some black as the Holden's soul, some red as blood. He turned to face her; Nyx had only been a colt then. She tried to run but all too soon it came down on her, nowhere to run, nowhere! Suddenly the scene morphed into a different setting. Still her evil tormenter remained, but beside him stood a smaller angel. Her wings were black, but not the nightmarish shade of her father's wings. The young female angel's wings looked more like black silk, or raven's wings. She stood silently before the larger angel, her startlingly ice-blue eyes were innocent and trusting. She allowed him to slip a golden bracelet onto her pale and delicate wrist. In the center glittered a pure black stone. The same stone that still adorned her rider's wrist. The flashback stopped, and Nyx shot back to reality. She reared, trying to force the light angel back with her hooves. -

(Cool!!)
Emily saw the poor pegasus struggling and released her grip. Falling back, she landed on a downy black cloud which lightened with her touch. "I... I..." the light angel stammered, seeming somehow to read Nyx's thoughts. "I'm sorry."
Then she was off without another word. -
Rowena watched her go, icy eyes frozen on where the light angel had stood merely moments ago. "She...let us go." Rowena's voice, soft and surprised, was met only by silence. Nyx stepped back and forth, an aura of stunned fear still radiating out from her. The rider sighed, dismounting with a slight flap of her wings. She trained a pale hand gently across one, coming away with a feather tucked delicately between two fingers. With a wistful sigh, she released it, letting the near-weightless object waft to the soft floor. Nyx tossed her mane and huffed, eager to exit this unfamiliar domain. Her rider couldn't agree more, but as the pair regarded the fluffy sunset horizon, a horrifying realization dawned on them. Rowena gasped, a hand flying to her rapidly beating heart in distress. Rowena and Nyx, two being a from the land of darkness, were lost in Light Angel territory.
-
Emily secretly spied on the two dark beings, constantly questioning herself if she should really help them. Finally, the light angel made up her mind.
-
Keeping one hand firmly on Nyx's reigns, Rowena placed one foot down on the whispy white cloud, which shockingly didnt move in the slightest. Stepping forward, she gently tugged Nyx along with her. She was heading in the direction she thought she had come in, but in all honesty, everything looked the same. The young girl bit her lip and glanced around, as if hoping something would change. Not that she wanted to go back to the world of nightmares and darkness. But it was outrageous to think she would ever fit in here. She frowned, rembering the light angel from moments ago. Her pale wings were like a dove's, her hair was perfectly smooth. But Rowena wasn't concerned with looks. It was the expectations. She didn't want to be a dark angel. Her father had been a monster, and as a foolish little girl she had been too young to see how repulsive he really was. Truly a being of darkness. But with clenched fists, she moved forwards. She did have some good in her...
