Fang had a thought, and tried to shove it away. But it wouldn't go. He was in love with Max!

Max thought the same thing. She wanted to hug him...to..... she shook her head, but no..... the gap between them had closed. it was right. They loved eachother. Why hadn't she noticed this before?

Fang was wondering how he had never noticed that.

Iggy held up a hand for a high five.

She smiled. This was the happiest moment of her life. She wished that it could go on forever. If only Fang was thinking it. After all, she wasn't a mind-reader like Angel.... she wished she knew.

Fang tried to break the silence. "Max... uh..."

Gazzy high-fived him. "Another?" The car was nothing more than a burned engine and red-hot metal.

Max nodded. "Yes, Fang?" Was it really what she thought he was going to say?

"Max... I love you!" He said quickly.

Iggy smiled. "But of course, Gazzy! What shall we burn up next?"

Gazzy pointed. "That!" It was a large tree.
Max smiled. "I love you too!" Her eyes welled up with tears, then it stopped. She didn't know what to do. Her heart felt like it was swelling.... -
Something came over Fang. He leaned over, and kissed Max.

Max kissed back. She wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. She let her wings go limp.

Fang hugged her back.
