Most dudes don't call on the same day they got the number, give him some time, if he actually thinks of you he will call sooner or later, if not.... Oh well

I agree with Kish. But you should also take charge in the relationship. Wait a few days, if he doesn't call, then you call him.
You don't have to ask him out, just call him and chat or something and get to know him a bit. :) -
