Some people are afraid of the dark.
When we are in the dark, we cannot see.
When we turn the light switch on, we feel safer. :)
People are scared because they don't know what lies beyond death.
So they created Heaven and Hell to feel that they had somewhere to go and something to look forward to.

my guess is that they were attempting to label the absolutes and create punishment for social deviations and reward for social compliance.
what i'm more interested in is the heavens itself.
muslim heaven for example
okey so when Muslim men die and go to Muslim paradise, they are rewarded with wealth beyond measure extravagant food, wonderful perfume ect. also 72 virgins

but for starters...didn't the original bible translation come directly from the phrase "white raisins" which meant virgins.
to begin with I'm sort of at a loss, as to how exactly that's supposed to be a good thing...

also i wonder why it's not like...72 p.rnstars. wouldn't that be funner?
if your only really after sex then 72 p.rnstars would DEFINITELY be better then 72 white raisins.
and THEN some men just want love, in which case isn't 72 to much??
either way you slice it, virgin sex is pretty much NOT as good as experienced...

Good explanation, Roady. And honestly: It fits me. I tried considering that after I die, I won't go anywhere. It stressed me out for some reason: It's hard to explain. Like I wouldn't feel anything, no thinking. It would feel as if I didn't exist. I dunno how to explain it :P But yeah, I've always hoped there is somewhere I can go after I die and I like that explanation.

Sometimes I think I'm only religious because I'm afraid to go to a place called hell and be tortured for all of eternity. But I don't think I believe in a hell or a heaven. I do believe in spirituality and maybe when we all die we go to a spiritual world that's just plain peace. Or if we have made a ton of mistakes and evil we come back in another life. Maybe I'm buddhist, idk
