nikorb Newbieoooooooooookay...
Whaaaaaaaatever....
btw, where does reasoned thought come from if not from consciences or souls? Did the Big bang program us to love good and hate evil?
I dont hate you or anything, but you are wrong.
Simple as that.
I'll pray for you and your soul. -
I have one comment for Nikorb.
You're a narrow-minded moron.
And that is all. -
I have no soul..... I have a brain. No the big bang didn't care. But WE did. WE define right and wrong. Not god, us. Human beings are social creatures. We care about each othet. Not everyone, of coarse. But most of us. That is what separates right from wrong. We don't want to hurt each other, or see others hurt, god or not. In fact, realigion does the opposite of help. It separates us, makes others seem different. So we think we don't have to care about them. So we hurt them.
-
nikorb NewbieI understand.
Thats why Im being called a narrowminded moron.
Im not denying that humans are humans outside of religion, but God is there anyway.
The Catholic church, btw, is the main group against the evils of abortion.
Abortion has, so far, killed more innocent living being than ANY other genocide in history.
Sad right?
When you grow up a little more, you will understand a bit more.
But for now, your points are simply wrong. -
You're narrow minded because you seem to think humans can't think for themselves and have decency without a supernatural being allowing them such, and you're calling anyone who agrees with you wrong.
God isn't there. That's my opinion. No one is right of wrong except in their own eyes. -
*Right or wrong
-
There's alot to address here, but what I really want to emphasize is that good and evil and right and wrong are man-made concepts, not something that has been endowed upon us by an almighty creator. First of all, there are many shades of gray that make it hard to put all people in the sole categories of "good" and "evil", or to put all actions into categories of "right" and "wrong". For example, many would say that it is wrong to steal, but what if a man steals not out of greed but out of a need to steal his family? Second, if we are programmed to choose good over evil, why are there murderers and rapists? How do you explain psychopaths, who have no true understanding of right and wrong? And finally, if we are programmed to choose good over evil and have a clear sense of right and wrong, why then was the Bible even written? If we inherently knew right and wrong, why would we need a book to tell us right and wrong?
-
bobbybobman Newbiehow do people know that something is bad? a consience, numbskull. it is something that God gave us that tells us what is right and wrong. that is why when you go rape someone you feel guilty.
-
Not everyone who rapes someone feels guilty.
And God didn't give me a conscience, I was born with mine. -
You are wrong.
Not everyone's conscience is the same. What is good to you, could be evil to someone else.
I'll bring up references of why there is no definite line between good and evil and right and wrong.
1) Fable. You make various choices based on what you want to gain in the game. There's good, evil, neutral, and any spaces in between. Just because you do one evil thing doesn't make you completely evil.
2) Mr. Brain, episode 2. In our society, it's considered wrong to eat another human being. But in other cultures, some meats are forbidden to be eaten because the animals are sacred to the people.
In the show, Takegami was asked "Why do you eat human flesh?"
He replied with "Why do you eat the flesh of cows?"
Therefore, it must be okay for him to do it, but society says it's not okay. -
Oh brother, I just feel bad for these theistic noobs and their blithering ignorance. I feel worse for the believers here who are actually intelligent and have to deal with dumbasses sullying their beliefs with thoughtless bulls---.
-
Tongue has a excellent point. Christians, and really every other religious group, have been given a bad name by radical idiots who do stupid things. Because of 9/11, people think ALL Muslims are terrorist. Because of Westboro Baptist Church, people think ALL Christians are homophobic a--holes. I go to a Christian school and I can tell you there many more intelligent religious people than the freaks that are talked about on television.
