If people make fun of you because you are a Christian take it as a blessing from God, for people have noticed you. They may ask questions about your belief and will hopefully be saved as the end result. :)

You're scared to be Catholic? As an atheist, I can tell you that being Catholic is comparitively safer. When people found out I was an atheist, religious folks I had known for years wouldn't talk to me anymore. Yeah, some places Catholics are kind of looked down upon, but it's never as bad as being an atheist.
