James Chapter 3 verses 1-12
TAMING THE TONGUE
In this passage it explains to us how our tongue has a huge impact on others around us. Each of us stumbles in numerous ways and our tongue drips evil.
Human beings have managed to tame animals and make them obey us. When we put bits into the horse's mouth we control the entire animal.
However, our tongue can not be tamed. Whilst it can be enthusiastic and encouraging it is also mean and full of evil thoughts. It is only a small part of the human body but plays a massive role on who we are. It is boastful and currupting.
With our tongue we praise God but also put people down and curse men. Our tongue is impatient and is set on fire by hell. Out of the one mouth we praise and curse. This should not be. We must learn to control our tongue and realise the effect it has on others around us. Each one of us has the ability to speak positive words and bring people to Christ. This is what we must aim to achieve. We must do this through Jesus' love. -
"drips evil"
"cannot be tamed"
"It can be enthusiastic and encouraging"
"mean and full of evil thoughts"
"Plays a massive role on who we are"
"Our tongue is boastful and corrupting"
Because the tongue apparently has free thought and a personality. Thank you quick witted tongue for all the speeches you've given and all the countless hours of research you put into it. You're obviously the source of my thoughts and the main reason I have them. But I must also hate you because apparently you're the source of my anti Christian thoughts. -
Its like this you can cover your eyes and ears so we cant see or hear but you cant control what someone says
-
Yes, these are very interesting observations. And they're supportable by physics and anatomy to boot. But I fail to see how it applies to religious indoctrination.
-
Well that was an example is all

Matthew Chapter 4 Verses 1-34
THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER, A LAMP ON A STAND, THE PARABLE OF THE GROWING SEED, THE PARABLE OF THE MUSTARD SEED.
Each one of us is like a seed that has been planted. We are inscripted with the knowledge of God but choose whether to believe it or throw it away. Some people become entangled, whilst others are snatched away before they fully understand and have faith.
Some people are like the seed thrown on the path. As soon as they hear it Satan snatches it away. Others are like seed sown on a rock. Since they have no roots their joy only lasts a short time. They will quicky fall away when trouble or persecution comes their way. Others are like the seed sown surrounding the thorns. They become entangled with worry and doubt and desire other things in life. Others are like seed sown on good soil. They spread the word rapidly and accept it.
We must grow in our knowledge of God and spread the good news. We must aim to be like the seeds sown in the good soil. Be accepting of God's word and tell others. -
Sorry, the above chapter is MARK not Matthew.

Mark chapter 4 verses 35-41.
JESUS CALMS A STORM
When Jesus and the disciples were in a boat (there were other boats with him) the wind became furious and waves were breaking over the boat. Jesus was in the stern sleeping. Jesus was not concerned or worried because He was confident. He knew he could make the wind and waves obey him, for He has power beyond anyone's imagintion.
The disciples woke Jesus and were terrified for their lives. Jesus stood up and rebuked the wind and the waves. The disciples were astonished. Jesus asked, "Where is your faith? Why are you afraid?"
This is a question we must ask ourselves. Do we put our faith in Jesus? We shouldn't be afraid because Jesus has the power to control the wind and the waves. -

GermanUnicorn NewbieYou know, Barber, you can at least TRY to listen to what Ange has to say.
-
I refuse.
-
@GermanUnicorn you're obviously new here (nothing meant by that, promise.)
barberbob2 here doesn't have to listen to that. He KNOWS this. He spent about a decade studying the freaking bible. -
Barberbob2: I wouldn't exactly describe that stip as funny. However, I will discuss some issues about the subject. Poverty is a real issue and needs to be addressed with maturity.
Although there is povery and war in the world there is also love, faith and hope. Every day God is making miricles, whether big or small.
Some people have got their list of important things mixed up and in the wrong order. We should put God first. Knowing God is the most important thing. It is more important than hunger.
As God's people we should try and reduce poverty rates but also let the lost be found. (Them finding and getting to know God.) The 40 hour fammine is coming up so this brings forward a great oppurtunity to help those in need.
Poverty is terrible but it is only short term. If we put our trust in God we will be saved and go to heaven for eternity. -
Mark Chapter 5
THE HEALING OF A DEMON POSSESSED MAN
Jesus is strong and almighty. There's nothing that he can not do. Even the evil spirits obey him. God has the power to drive out evil demons and spirits.
A DEAD GIRL AND A SICK WOMAN -
Large crowds were following Jesus. A woman who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years reached out and touched Jesus' clothes. Immediantly she was healed.
Jesus also healed a dead girl. Jesus was laughed at because the people believed the girl was gone forever. They didn't have faith in Jesus even though they knew Jesus peformed miricles.
Jesus told the girl to get up and she stood. She was back to good health and alive.
Although Jesus performs miricles people still lose faith and underestimate God's power. We NEED to put ALL our faith in God and ask Him for help. We also need to thank Him.
Remember, God heals the sick, has power over demons and created this earth. He IS powerful and almighty so we should put our faith in Him.
