I hate when non-Catholics try to make fun of our religion. Why can't they just keep to themselves. I'm trying to make peace here. Atheists, keep to yourself and stop trying to throw in "well scientists say this, scientists say that." Blah, blah, blah. Obviously, most scientists are against Catholicism. They are just trying to make others believe in no God. This whole thread is just really, REALLY insulting. So, can everyone just shut up and keep to themselves? Thank you..

It's called debate. Can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen.

My Science Teacher is Christian. Your argument is invalid. (anyone get the reference?)
What Ana said, basically. If you're allowed to preach, we're allowed to debate. We have Freedom of Speech for a reason.
I don't even get this offended when people call me a Devil Worshiper because of my religious choice. -
The moment you try to take away someone else's freedom, expect the same thing to happen to you.

Are you really gonna trust the word of priests over those of scientists? Scientists study the laws of nature; priests study a fictional book. Also scientists don't molest children.
I am not anti-Catholic, but I do have a problem with Catholics who so braindead that they listen exclusively to the Vatican and can't think for themselves. Which really is the danger of any religion. Why would you trust the word of men who say they speak for God, when they have no authority to do so other than the fact that they've taken supposed vows of poverty and chastity, and study a book that has no relevance today and is falsely attributed as the word of God? -
tori109 NoviceIt's not fictional, it was written by many different people that had their own thoughts, and I'm pretty sure they aren't all dellusional. And for atheists, I'm not bashing what you think, those are the opinion you are entitled to, maybe the best thing to say is to not say anything at all, let them believe in their religion. If you are right and there is no God, we'll all see after we die. And there is nothing that proves that God doesn't exist. I can think for myself tongue, and I also beleive that religion and science are intertwinded.

There is plenty that proves God doesn't exist. You can start with the logical fallacies in the delusion itself.
And I wouldn't have any problem with letting religion live its fantasy if that said fantasy didn't entitle effecting my life personally.
Ps. It's not fiction because there's no way that many people could be delusional? The original purpose of the bible was to calm society by explaining things that we didn't have an explanation for. Anything that people couldn't explain, such as lightning, or tornadoes, were all explained by God. This book has also been corrupted by every ruler that could get their hands on it. Reworded and edited by anyone with political power who needed leverage.
So not only is the originality of the book based solely on making up answers to calm people down, but it's also politically corrupt. Any tidbit of truth it may have to it is so buried and warped by the centuries that the book itself is a collage of everything it preaches against. It's a weapon. It always has been and always will be. -
tori109 NoviceWell my moms bf did say that they burned the parts of the bible they didnt like (Catholics) .

tori109 NoviceA priest told him this
-
When one of the 12 Disciples (Simon) admitted openly that he wanted Jesus to use his power to politically destroy Rome, how can you trust any version? The base copy is politically manipulated.
And don't get me started on the rest of the screw ups. Most Christians ignore them, which leaves the book open to objective criticism. Making it even more untrustworthy when even the followers admit that it's a personal opinion. -
tori109 NoviceOk
