FLgirl92 NewbieI realized recently that I don't know much about any religion accept my own. I guess the first indication was that I didn't know Catholics opposed birth control. Then I heard somewhere that Mormons don't drink or smoke, which I guess isn't too different from my Christian beliefs, but never drinking at all seems a bit extreme. So I thought a little bit about other religions like Jews and Muslims and it turns out that I don't know an awful lot about their religion either, especially Islam. I learned from Family Guy of all places that Muslims have the same God as Christians and Jews. So now I kind of want to know more about other faiths. I love being Christian, and I love Jesus, but can I truly choose a religion when I've been blind to the others? I don't really know where I'm going with this thought, but maybe you guys will find it interesting.

As an atheist I cant talk about my position on religion without being shunned or yelled at for it. Most atheists sadly know more about most religions than the theists who follow them. When you're told you're going to hell almost every day, it's good to know how to point out all the flaws in those accusations. :P
I am fairly fluent in Catholicism, Baptism, Protestantism, Muslim, Buddhism, Pastafarianism, and of course, Atheism. -

Pastafarianism is a disreligion. They worship the flying spaghetti monster. The patron saints of pastafarianism are pirates. And the reason we have global warming is because the flying spaghetti monster is punishing us for the sudden lack of pirates.

That pasta religion is indeed real. It's a religion too. Believe it or not, every religion is real. At the same time though, every religion including that pasta one is not real. see what I'm saying?

But, I don't really know all that much about religion other than my own, being a Catholic. I have studied Islamic empires in history, but that's pretty much it. -
