Hat! I didnt see your post until now. And maybe I should point out that I am the only person on this entire site bringing up the dark ages at all. It kind of narrows the options for other people just a little bit.
One cannot choose a belief because it is the more appealing option. The empty promise of an afterlife is no substitute for factual information. I do not choose to be an atheist. I am compelled to do so because of what I know to be true. I cannot abandon logic, reason, and proof to believe in something that has nothing to support itself with. -
Actually, barberbob2 and some others I forgot have been talking about this dark age business long before you came here.
