If Satan tricks people into following him then how do we know that god isn't actually Satan.
ain't paradoxes fun.... -
Mind bender

tongue AdvancedTis an interesting quandry. I look forward to hearing Brit's response.
-
me too, but he ignored this thread and went to the one i DON'T want to hear s--- about
-
Because God doesn't trick people into following him.
-
but how do you know that e_e
the bible and humans dont see all
we don't e_e
what if... -
I have a riddle!!!!! This does not relate at all whatsoever...but I am bored. And I agree with Carri.
You're trapped in a room where the only exits are two doors. They can talk. One will lead to pain and death and the other will set you free. One door always lies and the other tells the truth. You do not know which is which. You may ask one question to determine which door leads to freedom. What is that question? -
KK, first thing:
Why would a door need to lie or tell the truth?
Second thing:
Go up to one door and ask him/her what the other door would tell him is the path to freedom, then do the opposite.

I think it's because Satan tricks people into following him, and following him would mean you go agaist God, therefore commiting wrongdoings and such. Bad things...
But, if God did trick us, according to the Bible, following God is good, so he tricks us into doing good things and being sinless and such.
No one can be tricked into following both since they represent completely different things and by following the other, you go against the other-other (xD).
THerefore, God and Satan have to be two different beings, which solves your paradox.
I hope.

not really...
the question as i see it is that there's only one outer being, its either satan, or 'god', is it 'god' you're following, or were you tricked into following 'satan' e_e -
THe only thing is, I thought there were TWO outer beings: Satan AND God.
If not, and there was only one, then... lemme think about it xD -
tongue AdvancedNeither God nor Satan tricks anyone. Whether or not it was God who endowed us with it, we as humans have free will.

(before I even start I want it to be remembered that I am atheist and this is memory from 11 years of wasted life in christian school)
Satan was Gods favorite angel. Satan was gods right hand man. Satan, being the one closest to God, saw how much God tried to control everything. There was no force apposing God or keeping him from trying to control everything. Satan demanded freedom. Satan demanded equality or at the very least a neutral respect. A third of Heavens Angels took his side before god swept him and all of his followers to the underworld. Satan now spends his time defying Gods will and creating a balance in the world.
So in hell there is the most qualified angel to play god and all of his followers. There is a king who was a servant in heaven and was banished for wanting free will. He has his own kingdom now. God sends everyone who isnt 'worthy' for heaven down to satan. Personally I would appreciate free will, equality, and a realm created by the only angels who werent mindless slaves to the communist super power that all the mindless followers try so hard to get in to.
But before I take that I would much more happily close my eyes and leave conciousness forever. -
you make hell sound so nice :D
shall we party together down there with all the other 'sinners' if it exists? -
first off, if hell exists, I'm going to owe alot of people money. Second off, if hell exists I intend on submitting a formal complaint to whoever is in charge. And third off, we're going to f---in' party.
