Thread Topic: Gay marraige

I believe that Gay people are just like the rest of us. I believe that everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Gays shouldnt be out casted or shunned. Who ever is without sin throw the first stone.
But i dont believe they should legalize Gay marraiges. Why? Because it is a sin.
Let me put it this way: if i wanted to steal a candy bar from the store. And i believed that stealing candy should be okay. So i tell congress to legalize theft.
See, its wrong to legalize theft and you know it as much as i do! In the same way i dont believe we should legalize gay marraige. -
well our country is based on separation of churrch and state so sin or not, it doesn't matter...but ENOUGH religion...come to longest thread ever *beams* :D
-
We r on the religion forum.
But ill say hi and stuff anyway..
AND our country (America) isnt about seperation of church and government. The forefathers really wanted the church and the government to be connected. Thats why, they alowed prayer in school. And priests and whoever to be part of congress -
yet it's written in the constitution "and we shall have seperation of church and state" o.0 weird
do MOOORE THAN SAY HI! please please please...i'll quack about Jesus if you do!! i'm beeging you *begs* -
it's in offbeat!!
-
it's in offbeat, not religion...you just said hi to an add!!
-
tongue Newbie@Kirsteen: Two people of the same sex wanting to get married because they love each other is not the same as stealing. Saying gay people are like the rest of us is also in contradiction with your belief on the matter of marraige.
Let's try this: would you be OK with civil unions, where gay couples can get most of the rights that married couples get? -
tongue!! please please please! i know it's not your style but come to offbeat and join longest thread ever
-
PROVE IT!! Where does it say that in the constitution?
OK OK !! I will go and talk in offbeat! -
YES!!! *kisses kirsteen* thanx thanx
-
tongue NewbieSeparation of church and state is in the Constitution, the First Amendment: "Congress shall pass no law favoring any established religion", or something along those lines. I'll look it up later and get the real quote. But basically that means that our government can't make laws based off of religion, and can't make laws dictating religion.
-
tongue NewbieThe amendment prohibits the making of any law "respecting an establishment of religion".
-
@Tongue- ill look it up and study it too. The ammendments and stuff. Cuz i studied it in school but i forgot some of it!
I know that Gays and stealing isnt the same thing!! I was saying both are sins. That is why i dont look down upon them because i have SINNED just as much OR EVEN MORE than them!!
Huff, look. I dont know how to answer that question, should Gays get the same rights in marraige as anybody.
You mean like if theyre already married should they get the same rights? Uhh.. Idk. Let me think about that
-
@Slim- (blushes) uhhh 'kiss'?? dude this is the religous forum. you wanna do that do it on offbeat. JK LOL!!!
-
kirsteen, shut up, getting married doesn't mean you have to be christian. You could be buddhist, hindu, satanist, pagan, wiccan, anything. You talk as if gay people are animals, well guess what, I AM GAY. So go fuk yourself. If being gay is a 'sin' in your fuked up religion, then so be it, it doesn't make it wrong.
