Agreed. To put it in a positive light, there may actually be people here trying to find God or convert, so you could always provide some encouragement to them instead of those who do not wish for your religion to be forced upon them

I am not trying to ‘force’ anything. I am just saying that people should decide for themselves and that we should all think for ourselves. I was not trying to really convert anyone I am posting here because it is a free community and I thought the point of this thread was to talk about it, not to just say ‘there is no God’ which I will never say.

I understand where you're coming from the1foru, but I think in general you should just assume that people don't want to talk about religion unless it's brought up. I understand mentioning it in the Garden, but I've seen you go into others thread and discuss it unprompted which could be triggering for some people.
I personally get really triggered by certain religious talk because of my own personal trauma, so I can understand why others might be upset with you.
No one here wants to shun your belief or thinks you're less of a person for what you believe, we just simply wish to discuss all beliefs and idea equally and if you'd like to be a part of the theological discussion, you should consider some of the ideas that other people here have. Also pay attention to the tone of each thread. Not all thread are explicitly asking for your beliefs. Some want to discuss other beliefs and ideas separate from your own and may be put off by you bringing your beliefs into the conversation. -

As far as the conversation of whether or not god exists. I'd say that it's like trying to discover a color no one's ever seen before. Sure it might exist, but we don't have enough rods and cones in our eyes to perceive it so we can never prove it's existence.
Like I've stated before, I think that a lot of what religion attributes to God or spirits is just a lingering shadow outside of our perception that we can't understand.. maybe it is god, maybe it's something different. Maybe the reality is that we are all we have, and that truth is so depressing that humans have tricked themselves into believing in a higher power. God is subjective. -
I do guess I am taking these poll thingys a bit tooo far, I am such a dumb azz hippocrite (sorry for bad spelling, but one of the words was misspelled on purpose(also sorry for pointing out the obvious))

It's okay The1forU. I believe you have good intentions. I was raised extremely Christian and thought I was going to be a missionary so I totally understand the conviction you' feel. I hope you don't feel like we don't like you or are mad at you for believing what you believe.
I think all everyone wants is for you to just empathize a little more with the tone of each conversation and try to pay attention to what is and isn't appropriate to say. -

Not adding onto the conversation above, just answering the question.
I apologize for my language, but I absolutely f---ing do not believe in "god". There's no evidence, and his followers ruined my health and caused me so much pain, physically and mentally.
Like, sure. Since I don't believe in him, I'm going to "hell" or whatever.
But that doesn't matter. I'm already going there anyways, according to basically every Christian I've met.
I apologize for my rant. This topic kind of makes me angry, but I really wanted to input my thought of this "god" everyone talks about. Let's just say I have way too much truama surrounding Christianity. -
Well I was hoping to get slightly better inputs without all .. of this but I appreciate all the answers. I’m suppose to do a debate for this and haven’t picked a side and trying to see different point of views without all the arguing.
Then talk about that side from a philosophical perspective 🧐.

You're probably looking for more evidence based arguments. Unfortunately, I've purposely repressed all that sort of information from my mind but my fiance has a lot of literature about the topic. If you'd like I can ask him for some insight. I'm sure he can give you a lot of actually sources to work with. For and against.

I don’t believe in a single god, or even multiple.
I think that while I’m not religious and don’t hold any strong faith or anything, I still find myself believing that there could be a higher power. Someone who’s different for everybody, and who lived everyone. -

Because I think that everyone’s “God” is different. Like someone who watches over you, but still doesn’t control your life.
