I know most of you don't care, but for eight years I've participated in the National Bible Bee. Seems pretty ironic, what with me not being exactly what you'd call "Christian" but I'm good at mass memorizing so I've stuck around for a while.
This year they actually uploaded the entire footage of the competition to Vimeo so you can watch me on the stage if you want 🥴
This is the link to the Finals:
If you skip to 23:07 you can watch me reciting the longest passage the Seniors learned this year (perfectly!)--and if you don't want to listen to all of that, skip to 27:31 where I got kind of sassy xD
Also at 53:27 is the buzzer round where I totally kicked butt, which I wasn't really expecting...
So there you go. Sorry for being all egotistic and everything, but I can't help it... -
that's kinda cool :)
-
Heh thanks 😊
-
Oh wow I would hate doing all that. That's a lot of memorizing.
Great job tho :) -
Just_Fluffy NewbieYay congratulations! How long did it take you to memorize that?
-
@Star: Heh actually it's harder to review all 1,004 verses than to memorize them first time. But thanks :)
@Fluffy: If you mean that specific passage, a couple hours maybe? If you mean all the verses, it actually took me only five days which doesn't really count because most of the verses were repeated from previous years.but it still sounds really good :P -
That's really impressive! You have a great memory!! But if you're not a Christian, why do you do it? (Besides the fact that you are really good at it ; ) )
I mean, why did you start in the first place? -
I started when I was seven years old, and it used to be more of a family activity back when my older siblings participated. After 2016, it was more of something I did on my own.
I don't really know why I still do it now, other than that I'm just good at it I guess. I've never told anyone irl that I'm not really a Christian, so they all think I'm some super duper saint or something when in reality I'm the exact opposite. I guess I'm just an amazing faker :/
(I hope that makes sense?) -
as29383 NewbieIt doesn't matter if you are Christian or not, if you enjoy it you should keep doing it. BTW, congrats 🎉 on winning

Thanks!
