Thread Topic: Question.
-
If God already knows if we're going to heaven or hell, why are we put on this Earth instead of being sent straight there?
-
Where does it say he already knows?
-
God doesn't know whether you are going to Heaven or Hell, your actions on Earth will determine this so it is all up to you
He does, however, know when you are going to dieModerator -
But you could take action to choose when you would die. How can he not know your actions but know when you will die?
-
But it says that he knows what you're going to do before you do it, doesn't that mean since he knows your actions he knows where you're going?
-
That's only if a person believes in predestination. There's people who believe you can be saved or damned (the "typical" thing).
-
Actually, God knows if we're going to Heaven or Hell. He knows each and everything.
And, according to what I think, we are sent to Earth for two reasons:
1) Testing whether we should go to Heaven or Hell.
2) Earthly life is a punishment. Remember, Adam, Eve and The Fruit? He was sent here for punishment. -
I mean, as an Atheist shouldn't God say, "f--- it. Send 'em straight to hell." Like, what's the point of the "Earth Punishment" part?
-
Actually, he does since people claim he's "all-knowing" and since he's "all-knowing" he should know when you're going to decrease or if you're going to a place with eternal torture or an eternal euphoria.
I don't believe in such wacky and absurd fairytales, but he should know basically. -
This thread clearly assumes a Calvinists perspective, Calvinist vs Arminian is an arguement for another time.
-
Honestly the way I see it, He does know but He gives you the chance to change it (free will) Also, it might be that He sees all the ways something could go down but doesn't decide on one and force it to happen that way.
