Um, I was kinda in a hurry since people were waiting for me to respond, like you? Yes I know I could've had better grammar but it's because I was on a hurry that I didn't really care. :-/
Aaand here we go not only are older users slamming me on grammar but newer ones too. -_- -
Sorry, I get that you were in a rush, but you seem to always do that. I didn't mean to be rude or offense, but my frank qualitys are not disregarded.
-
I tend to have better grammar when I either have a lot of time to type my post or I have told others to wait because I'm making a long post...
-
It's okay.

Meh...I'm not really a grammar wiz im the first place, that's Carolyn's job! XD

Simply Geek is talking about The Big Crunch...
I think it is pretty legit to believe that all this expansion of the universe will sooner or later be held back by the force of gravity and instead the universe will collide together eventually causing a massive black hole that will give birth to a new universe once again, much like the Big Bang we all know and love.
I don't see it possible for the universe to come to a complete shut down, I believe it can restart in someway but to just close forever, I don't think that can happen....Moderator -
What I always thought was interesting is that you can use hit and cold contrast to generate power... The hotter the hot and the colder the cold. The more juice you get.
If all energy was concentrated in the big crunch, outside of the crunch would be absolute zero Kelvin, the contrast would make an explosion -
I see your point Geek because it eventually is going to happen. It started at as one big clump of land and it will continue coming together and breaking apart.

Why are you trying to keep these topics alive when they seem to be finished... it's not working.
Slim if you want to talk then start new topics. It's so dead at the moment -
Guys, I kniw it's a hard thing to grasp especially if you're not an astrophysicist, but there is a force over 3 times stronget than gravity that is driving the universe into an ever-expanding state. This force is called Dark Energy, and if our current theories are correct then as of right now there is no way gravity will be able to pull it all back together.
That is unless Dark energy flips polarity one day and becomes attractive instead of repulsive... -
Keno Joyous NewbieSo wait, something expansive will become implosive? I suppose that's possible...
Also, how do you know Dark Energy is stronger than gravity? How does anyone know? Dark Energy is almost completely hypothetical, and we know absolutely nothing about it, only what it causes. It's like that dot over a lower-case i. We don't know what the hell it is, or why it's there, we just know it makes us more legitimate. Unless you're an Oxford English professor, of course.
And I'm not going to discuss how the Universe will implode. I mean, sure I'll throw a few cents in.
I really don't know how though. We still have ABSOLUTELY NO idea what happens or what is outside the Universe, and we still don't even know what the Universe is, and most who have some good theories argue about what it is. Is it a plane of material? Is it a s---ton of gravitation and quantum fluctuations? Is it just some lazy way for us to group everything we can conceive in one big-ass pack?
Nobody knows. -
Keno Joyous NewbieAlso, we only partially know what Dark Energy causes. We still don't know how it causes it, or how much DE is needed to cause any given or desired effect.
