Thread Topic: Theory of evolution vs. creationism.

Which do you believe in?
I need people I ""know"" to give their opinions on this for a project in Biology Honors. Please don't kill me for bringing up this over used topic. -
Evolution. As microevolution is pretty much completely proven and I see no reason why macroevolution would be much different.
However if creationism is purely if a god made the world I see that as possible just not say the christian god. -
An honors class in biology is bringing up creationism? >.> UGH

Evolution as a theory is based in a wealth of evidence (fossil records). Creationism is based on something someone wrote in a book one time. It's basically science versus faith. I'll take the path of reason over irrational belief and wishful thinking any day.
Maybe that thought doesn't appeal to you. So consider this instead: if there is a God, why would he create a race as uniquely horrible in its capacity for cruelty and destruction as mankind? If you want to say God had a role in beginning of the process of evolution, go ahead. But I cannot and will not believe that any wise, benevolent God would ever create the human race as we know it. -
I actually am not a full on creationist or evolutionist. I have a balance, where God did create the universe and each species of this planet and possibly others [actually even in full on creationism there is no book anywhere, at least in the Catholic church, that states that we were the only ones out there, so in my beleif it is almost completely certain that we are not alone] but each species evolved in it's own way to adapt to it's environment, like the difference between Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears, God created the original that probably has gone extinct by now, but different branches formed out of that to produce the subspecies we see today, and this train of thought coincides with the 'proofs' evolutionists give, and also the information that is passed on in creationism in the way I was first taught.

OnlyaGlitch NewbieI believe in creationism
-
Godschild NewbieI do believe in creationism because evolution is always changing because they don't have the answers
-
^Mutations in DNA.
-
Science is constantly changing as new facts appear, science goes with whatever makes the most sense currently instead of sticking with wrong answers ;)

^^^Ignore my answer and listen to The Geek. He knows more.

Your opinions will be used in a newspaper article. Thanks again. ^~^
-
Random students work on dopey biology assignments are covered in the newspaper in your town? XD this is turning into a comedy
-
No, no, it's for the school's Lone Wolf newspaper for the Science section in Journalism. ^~^

paigequizzy NewbieI believe that God created the existence of everything. Go ahead and try to prove he didn't- you cant. I cant prove that he DID, it all just depends on what you choose to believe. Science SOUNDS more reliable, but not in this situation.
-
Burden of proof, you must prove gods existence.
