Mysterious gal NewbieAllah, nope. Jesus.
-
as far as I can tell, the chance of god existing is as good as the chance of him not existing from a human perspective, and that from a human perspective his existence means exactly squat.
-
God is an invention of man. God is the most primitive of human ideas which explains things that can now be explained with science, not to mention the ultimate social tool to suppress individual thought and freedom.

Mysterious gal NewbieTonque, go outside. Lay in the grass. Look up at the sky. Watch the clouds, listen to the birds. Watch the sunset as it sets radiance upon our world. Watch the thunder and lightning as it booms and crackles. And, of course, the rainbow, proving the loveliness of this world. The ocean, the dolphins, the whales. Even the Titanic, 2.5 miles below the surface. How could you look at all this, and say there is no God?

If there's a god, what separates him from a simply very powerful animal or force of nature? An elephant can kill you in one step. A black hole can destroy planets. But you don't call them gods. Maybe you say God created the universe, but who created God? Did God create himself? If he did, then why couldn't the universe create itself without God? Is the universe itself a god?
Unless you're seeing existence itself as the god in question, god is an impossible concept. -
I don't really believe in "God". I believe in a giant force.

Mysterious gal NewbieThose things, appayipyip42, that are left to wonder.
God was there from the beginning. He is the alpha, and the beginning and the end. Somethings, we just can't understand. Those things are left to wonder, and not to know.We just need to have the power to know, we don't know. Sure, an elephant can kill me, but what gave it the power to do that? Surly not a mystical force. Sure, a black hole can swallow planets, but a black hole is an OLD STAR. Who created the star, and who gave it the power to explode, and form into that hole? I don't call them God's because, plain as day, their not. God created the universe, thousands of years ago. And YOU began from Adam and Eve. God did not create himself. He was just always there. I know its mind boggling for us tho think about. But, I suppose when we think about, living forever, it is as well.
Truth be told, I'm listening to you, but, I'm praying for you. Both of you guys/gals. Just so you know, God is listening, he loves you, and he created you, he knew who you were before you were even born.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."
I can't peresuade you by anything, but I know, If God wants for you to live forever, he'll help you see the truth.

I can tell that this world a bit too planned to be randomly created, so I believe in a higher power or god.
-
I don't know but Sometimes I feel like a god. And don't you go throwing your beliefs derived from other beliefs at people , it's making a whole lot of nonsense to me. Only throw those beliefs ones that are truly facts

"If God wants for you to live forever, he'll help you see the truth."
He apparently doesn't want me to live forever then. Ass hole. -
84% of the world is religious. Approximately 1/3rd of that is Christian. This means that 28% of the world is Christian. Your God has not reached out to 72% of the human population and is perfectly content with them burning for all eternity.
Also, if by some miraculous chance you are right, that means that you will spend eternity being perfectly alright knowing that almost 3 out of every 4 people you have ever met are being tortured for ever. That's not peace. That's not paradise. That's either brainwashing, complacency, or sociopathic. -
Hell doesn't actually exist. There's only a handful of references to it in the bible, and they're all in that part of the bible, (Matthew and Revelations) so it should be taken with a grain of salt. What is described is a 'separation from God,' which I would see as more of none existence than anything else.
But again, it's all interpretation, so believe what you want. -
"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)
"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)
For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV)
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)
Every word of the bible is 100% factual and binding so says multiple points in multiple books of the bible itself. -
Note that all the passages you quoted said 'law,' not 'Bible.' The law of God is 100% factual and binding. The Bible, on the other hand, is a collation of books, which means a mixture of scripture, writings inspired by scripture, people's opinions on scripture and other tid-bits that were thrown in because who gives a s---?
Claiming that everything in the Bible should be taken at face value is a baseless claim when you consider that many parts of the Bible were freely and admittedly written by people who aren't God. (John, Matthew, Luke and Mark being the main ones.) Since people who aren't God can't give God's Law, all the passages above don't apply. -
So the bible is entirely up to one's own opinion and not a basis for anything solid at all?
