Thread Topic: Creationism vs. Evolution

The other day at lunch, we started talking about religious stuff for some weird reason. I said I believe in the theory of evolution cuz it makes SENSE, and all my friends freaked out on me!!!!! Plus they think I'm CRAZY just cuz I don't go to church or have a religion or anything!!!
-
They're the crazy ones..
Eva, be respectful
RESPECTFUL?! Pff
Evaaaaa -
CREATIONISM EVOLUTION HAS SO MANY FLAWS DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED
-
Evolution also has plenty of proof. I learned about it recently in biology and it def makes a lot more sense then a man ejaculating in a black void as making a one planet, earth, and then making a s--- ton of animals and a sexy both man named adam(cause we all know god was I to that stuff) then a woman emerging from his body and then being talked in to eating the sacred period fruit.

Hmm yeah I don't see HOW creationism could even be possible.....

Evolution is a very broad term which can mean many different things.
There are 3 mindsets towards it.
1, Its wrong. The belief all animals and species were made in creation.
2, Everything came from the sludge.
3, All the different types on animals were made in creation, but not individual species, (1 type of dog, 1 type of waterfowl etc) and then multiplied and covered the earth, adapting to the many different conditions on it.
I find 3 the most logical personally. -
Same

Was that a late post or does somebody actually agree with me?
-
Prolly late
-
It's got to be Evolution - I agree Shido

Geek, actually there's a 4th option that you didn't mention.
It works like a tree. With each species splitting off in to multiple sub species as time went on, but all coming from a single trunk. -
barberbob, I might need your help

So is that assuming that the animal got there somehow through creation or that it climed out of sludge?
-
Neither. The primordial ooze idea isn't supported by anyone of merit. The only reason that theory exists is because someone tried to oversimplify evolution and it failed miserably. Cells are just strands of DNA and RNA with a form. DNA and RNA are simple strands of protiens. Protiens are nothing more than groups of elements. Given that these elements were free floating and bound together well, proteins could form. All RNA is, is a strand of proteins and DNA is just two RNA stuck together. Here through simple chemistry we have DNA forming.
I'm not saying this is a perfect process. In fact, it almost never worked. But that's how evolution works. Things that don't work, don't go on. Where as the proto-cells created via these RNA strands can.
Life itself only has one programmed function. And that is to survive. As situations changed so to did these proto-cells. An arms race of survival started. Cells becoming more and more complex to compete. Springing simple plants and eventually animals. Their impact, changing the world even more. The momentum bringing life to where it is today.

I shall read that.
