You mentioned pedophilia is the same as homosexuality.
How do you rationalize that comparison? -

In my (near as damnit) 5 years of knowing geek in rl and then online as well I have learnt that there is one thing you won't be able to rationalise him on and that is homosexuality. Personally I think it's the way he's been brought up(no offence to your parents) but in all our heated debates I have never managed to get him to understand with this one. Good luck trying though ( @geek , no offence meant by this *hugs*)

Homosexuality isn't comparable to pedophilia because the people involved in homosexuality are CONSENTING ADULTS and are together on their own accord, while pedophilia is the abuse of children.

Homosexualism, Pedophilia are identical in their core The only difference between the two is that the child supposedly cannot consent due to being not mature enough. By this logic mentally disabled people should not be allowed to have sexual encounters, since many children are often smarter than the supposedly "mature" adults.

Pedophilia is based around adults taking advantage of vulnerable children and teenagers. Homosexualism is based around two people that fall in love. Technically if you're saying the two are identical at their core you can also say that heterosexualism and pedophilia are identical in their core.
