If christians put their oppinions forward and say you'll go to hell if you don't believe in God, we are shoving our religion down your throat. So to present our oppinions we have to hide the badside?
But you can say rude stuff about christianity before giving each other handies and pissing on christians and be completely good?

I can't speak for all atheists. That would be a gross generalization and I am in no position to speak for them all. I also understand that there are extremists no matter where you stand.
My only question is when was the last time you saw an atheist open a conversation where they were attacking others for being people? If the conversation is already about religion and others want to hear the atheists viewpoint, then sure. The atheist will talk about their opinions. If a major issue is going on politically or culturally where religious affiliations are trying to impose their beliefs on others, then sure, the atheist will voice their concerns.
But for the most part atheists do not go around attacking others for believing in a God. We don't just find any and every reason to tell people they're going to remain ignorant for the rest of their lives. We don't make it a habit to try and convert people for fear of damnation.
I can't speak for all atheists. I just simply can't. But on a personal level, I see religion as a personal thing. Keep it out of my schools, my governments, and don't use it as an excuse to attack others and I will have no issue with it. -
But you don't hear an atheist, or others who don't believe in a religion (me), go around saying that if you don't believe what I believe then you will live in eternal damnation.

Actually bob, I'm pretty sure an aetheist did do something like that for my beliefs rooted from christianity. "You still homophobic? If so I may have to stop being your friend" - straight from jackasses mouth.
And convo was off about ropeburns O.o
Banana, that's because aetheists hage "your all screwed" version of death. -
Who says we are going to hell if we don't believe in god? Here's the real question: For people who have different religions, where do they go?
Exactly. -
They go to hell also omega.
-
There are some Christians who aren't homophobic Geek.
Saying that someone doesn't like you because you're homophobic is rooted in the fact that you're religious and they're not is a false correlation. -
Thats still an aetheist attacking someone for their beliefs.

Admittedly atheists and agnostics can't really use "believe what I say or you'll go to hell" as an argument. So it isn't entirely equal. Whereas a Christian might attack your heart, an atheist will attack your brain. So we are kind of talking about two different arguments. I'm not sure either one is entirely okay, but not everything is sacred all the time. Some people need to be called out for both intellectual and moral failings, regardless of what they believe in.

I've been debating religion for so long that I sometimes can't figure out what I'm trying to say.
Thank you for posting what I was trying to get at Tongue. -
I have had atheists attack me for being homophobic because I wear a cross around my to identify myself as a Christian. The irony is that I'm bisexual.

UnLoving NewbieChristians don't say "Believe in what I'm saying or go to hell", they're saying "I believe that if you don't believe in this, you'll go to hell."
Christians believe that if you are a Christian, you go to Heaven, if you're not you go to hell. They don't believe that there is a different place for people with othermade upreligions.I'm sorry that was mean but it's what I believe please don't attack me for it
When they say "You will burn in hell if you don't believe this" they are simply stating what they believe. And then atheists come in and attack them for saying that.
Christians are the ones getting attacked for their beliefs. -
Klan members don't say "Be white or you're a lesser person", they're saying "I believe that if you aren't white that you're a lesser person."
Ku Klux Klan members believe that if you are white, you're a superior person, if you're not you are inferior. They don't believe that different are superior in their ownmade upethnicities.I'm sorry that was mean but it's what I believe please don't attack me for it.
When they say "You're inferior if you aren't white" they are simply stating what they believe. And then black people come in and attack them for saying that.
Ku Klux Klan members are the ones getting attacked for their beliefs. -

UnLoving NewbieInteresting point. *strokes imaginary mustache*
The difference is Christians don't start killing people who aren't Christian.
