You sure have faith in some infitely dense mtter that went pop appearing out of nowhere. By a disabled bloke who very well might have brain problems....
So my dad is a bit of an oldfag, not on 4chan but in the real world. He remembers when aethiests said that the world never began but just was always there. Ding ding, yo nonbelievers saw the light of God some and changed your hypothesis.
And for science is fact, it used to be a scientific fact that maggots grew of raw meat. No longer there....
So you
1. do need faith to be aetheist.
2. God is showing the light of his word into aetheists through ways outside of te bible (divine revelation).
3. Your beliefs are based on a very fallible source, heck our theory on atoms we aren't even entirely sure about.
Why not trust a 2000 year old book written by a lotta different people yet all somehow fits together because of divine inspiriation? Also the #1 bestseller in da world. -
I'm not atheist, but the book you're speaking of looks like a fairy tale written by a 10 years old boy to me. Why trust it?
-
You appear to be avoiding my points, why listen to you?
-
I agree with Viktor. My views on the bible is that it's a really old fairy tale written by a group of people to pass on morals. That's it, nothing more about a religion and a God up above.
I'm more of an agnostic, where I say "I don't know, I don't care," Though yes we are still discovering new things in science, but that doesn't mean it's a fallible source. For all you know the bible is a fallible source written by people that were high. You never know.
Most people would disagree with the faith to atheism, it's mostly strong opinion. My dad was an atheist and it was more of when a point of religion would be brought up he would argue with it. -
Niecey Newbie1. no atheists don't believe in anything, dafuq are you talking about
2. god must be very cruel and apathetic then
3. yeah well so are yours, you don't even know who wrote the bible -
Niecey, if you simply plan to be generic there is no need to even reply.
1. Deny
2. avoid point and say something rude.
3. insult.
Now time for banana.
The morals wouldn't have 2 books seperated by time, one continueing the next. And written in hebrew then greek later.
Science has been solidly proven wrong before, and scientists know that science can't prove anything. The Bible has never been solidly proven wrong so much more likely.
Strong oppinion is faith. -
What's your point then? Your first post is too vague and written in a terrible way. Sorry.
-
You can't dismiss science as a whole there are solid facts in the ground and by the simple experiments anybody can do at home. The only reason the bible has never been proven wrong is because we don't know what happened back then, we don't have anything to test it to. We can't see God therefor most people don't believe in it. One way to prove it wrong in a simple matter.
You can choose to believe what you want but that is my opinion on this matter. There is no need to try and change that nor will I try to change your view. I would just also like to say that, back then if you opposed the church people would be publicly punished. -
I see no hydrogen molecules. Must not be real.
From around the middle ages to the reformation the church was pretty corrupt. Now Church is nice all around. -
This thread is too ignorant to respond to properly.
The big bang that you're talking about hasn't been proven. But with the evidence that CAN be observed by anyone willing to do the research, it is the most logical conclusion that can be drawn from the data at hand.
This is how science works. Everything else you have provided was the most logical conclusion drawn by science at the time. As our ability to study and research has increased, so has our understanding of the world.
Science adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation so that belief may be preserved.
If you prove to me that something like divine inspiration actually exists then I will change my mind. I will spin on a flippin dime. I'll be embarrassed as hell. But I will run through the streets screaming,
"It's a miracle! Take free will and shove it! God can exist. And while his existence doesn't improve our way of living in the slightest and his last solid inspiration to the world told us women and children were property, apparently he can whisper ideas in the back of our heads and help us out from time to time." -
Most of you just posted rude comments because you had no better reply -_-
-
geek is christian? lawl yay.
-
Actually, if you read then you'll notice that our replies are mixed in the rude comments. It just takes enough of a spine to not get offended before you finish to see that.
-
^ You were not one of the "most" but I wasn't planning on mentioning that....
You didn't know geek was Christian? o-o
Dude...I knew that like the first week of joining this site
