kindbloodedLily Newbiethere's no f***ing reason for religion in the first place since all it does is divide us all and when you have a different view from the majority of your religion you are looked at like you are a demon or something they dont even see it as a difference of opinion it completely sucks.
I think religion needs to fly out the window and all the people should rely on one another, not just the church or synogogue or some other kind of 'holy temple'. We pay too much attention to the survival of our own religion and not enough to the well being of our own fellow human beings.
I for one hate how my religion makes me look at every other religion as the enemy, or some kind of fake religion whose people we need to help convert to our religion. this absolutely enrages me. PEOPLE ARE NOT FAKE!!!! why the hell should we try to change who they are?? I also hate how we are told that gay people are devil-worshiping creatures. f--- THAT. If i suddenly discovered i was a lesbian, i wouldn't want all my friends to start calling a satanist just because thats who i was. Some people believe it or not, are born homosexual, you ignoramaces!!!
Religion is going to-correction-IS RUINING the world.
f*** religion. I will not have part in it.
(fyi being anti-religion does not mean being anti-god) -
1. Stop sniffing coke.
2. Calm down.
3. I'll take it your in a christian community.
I will tackle your arguement one paragraph at a time.
I. I as a non Calvinistic Presbyterian have attended calvinistic presbyterian churchs, non calvinistiv ones, anglican, christodelphian [uniterian also a grace church][no clue how to spell that one]. I haven't got a single problem with any of them. Except Solihull Presbyterian church and that's just because the minister was tarded and tended to guilt people.
II. WTF are you talking about? Do you have a damn clue what people do on mission work?
III. Worshippingg false idols is against the ten commandments and is in fact one of the top ones to follow. I will not start my gay speech as it will enrage the gays on here.
IV. Very insightful.
V. It means you are worshipping the false earthly idols and not God so yes, it is anti-God -
I like the energy here, but I do feel it is irrational and harsh.
I'm going to start by saying that I am an atheist. I am against man made deities as well as the church that enforces them.
So yes, fuck all religion.
It doesn't matter what sect of a cult you follow, all cults empower ignorance and stubborn denial of reality.
People on mission work are usually decent people. I even have a good friend who just came back from a mission to Guatemala. But the fact still remains that a hand full of people do not redeem the overwhelming majority of them.
Religion itself was originally invented to explain things that we didn't understand. Back then anything and everything that we didn't know about was the act of God. Day and night, lightning, rain, snow, eclipses, death, comas, and disease just to name a few things that people once thought were the divine acts of God.
And yet as our understanding of the world around us grows, the "divine power" of God seems to shrink. With every step we take forward we look around and see no God here, so we keep looking. It's a wild goose chase and slowly the world is starting to understand that. We are finally shedding our bronze aged shackles and are embracing the world around us for what it is... Free.
But look at the track record of religion. Every time we discover something that helps our fellow man, there are cults out there who oppose knowledge and understanding. The people who brainwashed you since birth to believe in an all loving, all powerful, and all knowing being, are now twisting that image to fit their own selfish need. An all loving and all powerful deity could and would stop them from using him as a weapon.
So we are forced to realize, either God isn't as divine as they've been telling you. Or he isn't there in the first place. In either case, you've been getting lied to.
Your church, your religion, even your parents have lied to you.
Now you have a choice. Do you look at everything they've lied to you about, and go out and find a truth that you trust can prove for yourself? Or do you remain dependent on those people who have lied to you?
The choice is yours, and it's the same one that everyone is faced with every day. Welcome to the world we live in. Don't trust anything you can't prove for yourself. Stagnancy is death. Go out and learn. -
It is so more believable that some tiny amount of matter exploded forming the complex and wonderful world around us... It is obviously that the world is beautiful on even the microscopic levels to the macroscopic level completely by chance.
A few decades ago aetheists believed the world had no start point. Now through general revalation they saw that there was a start point, getting even closer to God. Not heading away from it. -
religion is important. screw you
-
kindbloodedLily NewbieOkay, I'd like to clear something up. I am jewish, not christian.
When I was younger I went to a completely private school. They taught us that it was important to go to god for anything you need, and that much I enjoyed. Then they started showing us all these videos and telling us how the islamists and christians were bad, like animals, who were idol-worshippers and that we were the only pure religion. I swear, they are trying to brainwash us. Thankfully i had enough sense not to believe them. Whenever I try to talk about some other religion or bring up the idea that everyone can have a good heart, the people in my community look at me and give off this air like i should die for even having such thoughts. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! They can be so ignorant...
Seriously, I can't believe I was born into someplace like this.
-------------------------
I love god, but i'm really resenting my religion right now. This is not how people were meant to spend their time.
So again anti-religion does not mean anti-god. -
Your the jew who was complaining on a different account weren't you -_-'

"Ever religion has its faults. No one is correct and no one is wrong; Its simply human."
^My little Quote... :) If you get it, then you see what I'm saying. -
.........This is why I hate going into religions.
-
kindbloodedLily Newbieok ok geek ya got me
the only reason im not posting from my other account is because i forgot my password
but i really do feel that way about religion
you can say whatever you want guys i wont stop you -
"Every religion has its faults"
The problem is they claim it to be perfect and sent by god himself. -
Hence a lack of religion. We try to learn, and if we find out we've been wrong, we'll adjust our views based on the facts.
-
@Bob Agreed, totally.
-
I have no problem with other religions or non-religions. For all we know, we could be wrong. As theists, we have no right to tell others that they're wrong. We're all human, nothing more, nothing less. Our religion does not give us extra or fewer rights.
@Geek Are you kindling me? People are BORN GAY. I, a Roman Catholic, was born bisexual. It's just the way you are. If you can't accept gays, other religions/non-religions, or point of views, then you're not a Christian, you're a hypocrite. Many people don't agree with Christian beliefs and want to convert us. Many people even see us as evil. When I see Christians who can't accept others for who they are, I can't help but think that they're right.
Also, I have to agree with kindbloodedLily. Anti-religion and anti-god are very different. Anti-religion means you don't follow or agree with an organized religion, but you can still believe in God. Anti-god means you don't agree with the thought of any god. -
You don't believe in any god: Atheist
You don't believe in any religion: Irreligious
