I'm making myself miserable. Like seriously.
Those of you that know, I love drawing, and have a bit of a talent for it, but these days, it feels like a f---ing chore.
Art makes me happy. It lets me release negative emotion as something beautiful. But the thing is, I really want to be good at what I do so I push myself to improve as fast as I can, as much as I can. Gives me something to work towards, which is good, right?
Just a bit.
There is no real definition of art, so I'd like to believe that Art is limitless. Almost anything could be art. I personally would believe that as long as you tried your best, it's art. I don't believe that the style/genre you tried to execute a drawing with matters as much as the content. The thing is, I feel like s--- because I feel shunned and looked down upon in the art community, because what I like to draw isn't considered 'art' in their eyes.
In case you don't know, I like animation and cartoonism. I would love to do fun webcomics and still paint semi-realistic paintings. People say graphic novel sorts are NOT art (I could get into this, but it's a rant for another time), so I feel somewhat discouraged and beat down for liking/practicing it.
I feel that if I don't do some form of semi-realism, or any 'valid art form' that I am worthless as an artist, and undeserving to be called one.
I don't even f---ing know how the f--- this happened. I was pretty happy and s--- drawing pretty things happily before i met all these f---wits. I feel god awful whenever I try to draw anything non-semi-realism. I guess the human mind is pretty influential. The more someone tells you something, the more you start to believe it.
FFFFFFF someone f---ing beat me with a paintbrush for being unreasonable already. -
Tingy, I'm the same way. I want to draw the same style and I love it. Seriously, f--- what others say. It may not be art to them, but it's art to me, you, and many others out there. I agree with you completely on what art is. No matter what medium or style it is, if you're expressing something in a creative way and putting effort into it, it's art. Don't let their ignorant opinions crush you.
Just seriously, I f---ing ignore most of the 'art/music/writing/ect. community. They just want to shove their opinions down other people's throats. And like always, opinions are like dicks. I don't want it shoved down my throat. e.e
Okay, off topic. xD You're a great artist, Tingy. One of my favorites. And you are going to be great at whatever you put your mind to. Don't let others hinder you. -
f--- the System is all I say.
Its like with Music,or other artist too.I get told my work is s--- by instructors,or people who are really good at art or music.I remember back in highschool.BUT students in my class or friends thought my work was great.So I never worried about what they thought.
I dunno if I got what you were saying well..but either ways if you love what you do,you shouldn't worrie.I draw and play guitar for myself,as a fun activity. -
