Thinking of self harm? Don't do it. Don't even start that crap. If what you have to do to distract your self is as unproductive as tv or omegle, do that instead. Because seriously, hurting yourself isn't doing you any bit of good, and you don't need it to feel alive. If you're breathing, you're alive.
Depressed? Do or think about less depressing things. Recognize the feeling, but don't let it swallow you alive.
See things about yourself you don't like? Set goals and tell yourself that there is a realistic way to make things happen and it may take time. In the mean time, give yourself a fuking break, and focus on your positive qualities.
Bad event just happened? Take a breath. Know that things will work their way out in their own time and place. You'll get through it.
What else do I? I listen to music, read and write anime, hell even yaoi. Look at art, dream of art, think of how I'm going to make art and other plans. Make up stories, look at different languages, histories and cultures. Just plain walk around and look at random things. Look up and learn new things, take care of my cat and pet her. Drink water, and try to get exercise especially when I feel pent up, depressive energy. You get the picture.
Those are just the things that help me. I'm not better than anybody else, and none of this was written to claim such a thing. This is simply what has helped me survived very hard years in my life. You all will have your own things.
The most important thing I can say is you have to change your mindset. You have to have hope. Because the world is going to kick you off the horse so many times and laugh at you, and you just have to stand up and dust yourself off, get back at it again. There's no shame in crying, or taking a moment to yourself or a break. You just have to keep going. Because only by doing that will you learn more about yourself, others, and how to really make a difference in the world. -
I'm starting to realize something. I write all this but it falls on deaf ears. I guess when you're going through depression what others say doesn't mean a damn to you. You just have to live and find out on your own. That's why every word I write has hit so far home with me, because I've experienced it, learned it, believe it, and live by it.
