The last time I cried was just a few minutes ago.
It wasn't because someone broke up with me, or because life's too frustrating. I didn't lose a loved one, or get hurt. I cried because I wanted to. Every night for a week now, I have posted on here less and less.
It's because I'm too busy feeling. I find myself every night crying out of free will. Finding the pictures of the child at their parents military funeral. Or the story of how someone was unconditionally loved and realized it too late. Or the stories of people who try so hard, and are forgotten by a cruel chance of fate. I read these and look at these pictures and I cry.
It's not about being weak or some emo creep. It's about reminding myself that I have a heart. Something that people forget to do these days. Sometimes I sit for hours feeling tears roll down my cheeks. My chest shakes and my nostrils quiver as I try to breath, but there is no where else I'd rather be.
Even long after I've turned off my computer, I sit there and draw the sorrow to the front of my mind and weep in the dark. Laying there while feeling the salty tears slide down across my temples and into my hair. Long after it dries, I still sit there and recall the emotions until I can't feel it anymore. But I know it will be back again tomorrow.
I haven't ever experienced anything else that can draw this level of raw emotion out. There's something about sorrow that clears the mind. A profound sense of calmness and cleanliness resides over the body and spirit.
I do it because it lets me feel something. It lets me feel emotions that humanity has long since forgotten about. It teaches me to feel compassion for pain that isn't my own. To recognized that other people feel hurt too. It opens me up to compassion and the sorrow of others.
I don't know why I'm telling you this. It just goes to show you that for every character you think you've got figured out, there is a deeper story that is infinitly more complex than you bargained for. And that complexity is that persons humanity.
Goodnight GTQ. Take care. -
*speechless* I understand what you mean.

I don't know what to say...

Well it's nice to know there are still people out there who actually have heart. It seems as if the world is almost completely filled with heartless, self-centered monsters who can only think about their own well being.
