no it’s alright, i know i might have went a bit overboard too
so from my understanding of your texts and the articles, samhain (before halloween) was an irish tradition used to ward off evil spirits as a sort of pagan protective spell where bonfires were lit and at the time it was believed the spirit world would interact with the physical world
thanks for the insight :) im sorry if it offended you. halloween, in my household and ive heard from majority of christians and occasionally non-christians, is a demonic tradition because of those spiritual practices. here’s some things from an article on halloween i read — -
Halloween is a demonic pagan celebration. It is believed that on Halloween, the door between the realm of demons and the living is opened, and all manner of evil can manifest itself among the living. October 31st is a “holy day” for Satanic worshipers, witches, warlocks and demons. Satanists and devil worshipers put as much importance on Halloween as Christians do on Resurrection Sunday, when Jesus Christ conquered death with death.
Halloween is the spiritual opposite of the RESURRECTION of Christ. Through the celebration of Halloween, Satanic worshipers, witches and warlocks carry out Satanic ceremonies to spiritually attack the church of Jesus Christ and Christian communities.
Satan – our enemy, loves lost people who celebrate this demonic pagan festival because it brings a generational curse lasting four generations upon the people who celebrate it and their families. Satan knows that the next generation will also celebrate this pagan festival as a ripple effect and attach the curse to the next generation and related family members.
Why the costumes – the delusion behind the costume is to pose as something you are not and by doing so you invite demonic attacks upon your life and those of your family members. Satan is the greatest identity thief. He tried to intimidate Christ in the wilderness and questioned His real identity by asking, “IF you are the Son of God, then command these stones”.. Note that “Satan masquerades as an angel of light”. 2 Cor. 11:14
Celebrating Halloween is a betrayal to the Most High God, Creator of Heaven and Earth and all things visible and invisible.
“You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons.” 1Cor.10:21
The carved pumpkin is an open invitation for demons to enter your house. Curses become active on Halloween and if you worship Satan by celebrating Halloween, you are inviting curses upon yourself and your family. The carved pumpkin, spider webs, goblin statues and other demonic-related objects are symbolic invitations for demons to enter your house and put curses on your household. “You must not bow down to their gods or serve them or follow their practices.” Exodus 23:24 -
Your sources are based on false information. My people don't have demons. We have our own gods, and the fae. They aren't demons at all.
As a Witch, October 31st isn't a holy day for Satan. Its the day where the dead are able to watch over us more personally, and we can give thanks to all those who came before while keeping ourself safe from tricksters, and other Faeries and spirits.
The source about us attacking the church or it having anything to do with jesus is complete bulls---. Our religion existed here long before Christianity arrived, so how could it be?
Witches don't attack christ. It's not a thing we do. Satan has no power or sway over me. I am not a Christian. I am irish pagan, and a Witch/Druid. I do not believe in him, he cannot hurt, sway or curse me. Its as simple as that.
The costumes point is moot; druids don't and haven't believed in Satan. To disguise yourself was to protect yourself.
The carved pumpkin, a modern invention and not all that traditional actually keeps demons [ modern invention; our Halloween doesn't have them] away. Stingy Jack was a drunk who played around with lucifer, and was cursed by both him and god to wander eternally. That's what it's about -
Using exclusively Christian sources to debate me on this is weird. I'm not telling you, that you have to celebrate Halloween, I'm asking you to stop calling my culture Demonic it's mean
-
sorry, ill stop calling it demonic. i didn’t mean any negative offense
-
Uh, rq, this is a religious debate so I think it makes sense that she uses christian sources
-
It's not a religious debate. She's bringing Christianity into a non Christian culture / celebration to call it Demonic.
-
I appreciate that. You're free to not celebrate, and no one should force you too.
-
Also, I used the world exclusively. That's the issue confirmation bias is not the vibe.
