That's not what I was referring to. What I was saying was that some, NOT ALL may have the appearance of being older-looking because of how thin their skin is all because of anorexia. That was just one of many possible results because of anorexia. I'm not saying that everyone who suffers anorexia has the appearance of looking older. I also didn't say that YOU in particular looked old. Gee, making such a fuss over nothing!

A lack of education is exactly what ignorance is.

I think of anorexia as a mental and physical health condition. Most often when people are anorexic, it's because they visualize themselves as larger/fat and they constantly try to keep losing weight that isn't there. I think the hallucinations start when they aren't getting enough nutrients to realize they're getting too thin. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but that's what I think happens.
Honestly, American Dad depicted this idea rather well when Stan insulted Steve's girlfriend because she wasn't thin. Francine then tells Stan that he let himself go and isn't very thin himself. Half of the episode shows Stan as fairly obese and it's like he can never lose weight no matter what he does, it's as if he can only get bigger. He even has an imaginery trainer. But at some point the show exposes the reality of Stan's anorexia condition, and no matter how much his family tries to tell him, he doesn't see it that way until the end when Steve expresses how much he cares about his girlfriend despite her weight.
Though many people see shows like these as stupid, some still stay true to their satire and deep meanings. -
Ohhhh. Okay. So maybe instead of calling someone ignorant, I don't know.. Maybe enlighten them with your higher knowledge on the subject? Since apparently the sources I used wasn't accurate, lol, and maybe those people were ignorant as well.
Noticed those question marks in my first post? Yeah, those. I put them there because I was uncertain and I was giving you all a chance to correct me or not. And the reason why I haven't responded to anyone (until you asked me that question) was because I wanted to see everyone's opinion and knowledge on the subject. How their answers differ and what was similar to get a better understanding on the subject. So calling someone who is trying to get a better understanding and someone who is trying to learn something is ignorant? Ohhkay.
And to all who anwsered my question, thank you. I think I read and understand the concept of anorexia a bit more than before. How I view it and the people who actually have it is a bit different now. -
Ignorant was literally exactly the right word to use for you in this case, so I'm not sure what you're getting so defensive about. I never insulted you. No one taught you about this before. That's fine. It's cool that you're trying to learn more, but your first post sounded more like an insult than an inquiry for knowledge.

Whatever you saay.
I still don't understand how that sounded like an insult and really that wasn't my intention. -
I know that it wasn't your intention. I'm sorry. Your statement about how you personally believe they should eat more completely threw me. I don't want to argue with you, though, so I'm going to back off. Sorry again.
