Thread Topic: a thought about machines
-
The only real difference between ourselves and a desktop computer is complexity. If we were to design a computer capable of the same order of thought we are, it would resemble a man more than a machine, and would bear the same weaknesses.
-
A computer wouldn't be made of the same stuff though, so it wouldn't get sick for example. I don't think you can program a computer to think like a human, can you program a computer to be spontaneous? I don't think you can
-
I agree with Ilovelions. You cannot program anything to have feelings like a human.
-
Humans are intellectual, computers are just knowledgeable.
-
I believe with certain codes you could recreate human emotions or at least human-like responses in a computer, or better, a hologram, like the Doctor on USS Voyager- 2300s.
