I've heard people say it's transphobic, I'm just thinking of the gender roles thing?
I'm going to use this as an example..
So, the female version is wearing makeup and has long hair. The male version has short hair and no makeup. So basically genderbend implies that makeup and long hair are for females, when they should be portrayed as gender-neutral.
Any opinions on this topic?? -
Most gender bends I see just change up the body build and hair style.

Well here I found an article that pretty much summed up what I was trying to say:
because you are playing into the cissexist notion that body parts = gender = presentation. and that a dude being turned into a lady means he now had breasts and a vagina and wears a dress and goes by she. nvm that hey, he could totally become a she and still wear the exact same damn clothes and have a penis.

Maybe we should just refer to them as masculinity/femininity transition things. They're still fun to do, and aren't intended to harm anyone, but I can see them being a problem.

Not all gender bends are like that =/ maybe in mainstream media but other artist that do genderbends don't really do that.

Am I the only one more offended that by people making an issue of this than by the thing in question itself? Why is it that people are so worried about being politically correct about everything? I understand that it's so you don't offend anyone, but when you start expecting everyone else to side with you on anything that you disagree with, you're delusional.
But what do I know. I'm a straight white American male who is comfortable with having a penis; and according to tumblr, I am the scum of the world for those very reasons. -

And please don't try to speak for Tumblr as a whole, not everyone on Tumblr thinks the same way. And...good for you? I don't...when did anyone say there was anything wrong with that??
