Thread Topic: I cannot believe my mom

She came into my room - first thing when I got home from school - and started talking to me about how disrespectful I was. Sure, I argued a ton about going home, but customers were still walking in the door, and I could've had my grandma take me home later.
She then said "You need to be more caring and start thinking about other people and their needs." I started sobbing the second she said that. What does she think I spend every weekend doing? What does she think crosses my mind every time I sit down to eat a meal, I lay down in my bed, I walk into my home?
The one time she's ever given to charity is the time I nagged her until she did. I'm not exaggerating when I say all she's accomplished with her life is watching TV. I need to think of other people? That wasn't the only time I nagged her to help others, just the only time she listened.
And then she took my iPod away! I kind of just handed it over. Who cares about the dumb iPod? If I "wasn't allowed to go to my grandma's anymore", I found no reason to get out of bed in the morning, anyway. So I just cried myself to sleep. Not because of the iPod. Because of her words.
You need to be more caring and start thinking about other people and their needs. -

If anything you should think more about yourself. Compassion for others is always a good thing, but you need to put yourself first and be strong for you.

BTW I think what she is really saying is "you need to think about ME and MY needs". In which case I say she can go f--- a cactus.

You guys didn't read my long speech, so you don't understand why I was crying or why I think what my mom did was so stupid. Thanks for your comments, but until you read that, you don't know the situation or what I went through or why I even posted this. And by nagging her, I was just like "Mommy, come on, you can't even give one dollar to the poor little children?" I didn't sit there and whine like a toddler or anything. Plus the nagging had nothing to do with any of this, I just mentioned it to show that my mom has never done s--- for anything, and then she accused me of crap.
