Thread Topic: Help with cutting/Self harm.

I don't know if this fits here, but I just wanted to make a thread about it. Cutting and self harm has became a huge impacts on some users lifes, including mind, and I wanted to give and hear some tips from you guys on how to stop. I hope this helps.
So yeah. Just post your tips down below. -
Cutting only really happens for one of two reasons. You're either wanting to die, or you're wanting to relieve stress.
If you're wanting to die, then there are much more effective ways to do it and if you really wanted to we couldn't stop you.
If you're just doing it for relief, then look at it this way. When you're older and maybe have a family of your own, do you want your children or your significant other asking what the scars are from? Can you really bring yourself to tell them what you did?
It's a hobby that only ends in hospital visits, a self intervention, psychiatrist visits, or death. Those odds aren't that great. But luckily you get to choose if you want to take the high road. -
Thank you, Barber. That's a good thing to think about. ^.^

I heard somwhere if you draw a butterfly on your wrist and give it the same name of the person you love and if you cut it you are hurting that person? lol, sorry that was probably wrong but I thought it was really sweet.
Also,if you cut your just making more problems. You have to worry about hiding the scars and if you get found out you have to see an annoying doctor.A top of all that your current problems are STILL there.
Also if you are old enough tattoos help, all the pain of cutting but instead of a nasty scar its a cool design..costs money though. -
I have never had such feelings of cutting myself before but I did have a few friends who did have depression issues and stuff...
So what we did is when they felt like cutting themselves or were simply having that bad time again they would try and find stuff to do to keep their minds free.
1 of my friends would eat and watch a funny show or something and that actually helped
This other friend would grab a pillow or something else soft and smash it big time, that stopped her from cutting herself.
And 1 of my friends always called me or text me whenever she felt...you know, down. She said I always seemed to find ways to make her relax which is good, we have been friends since preschool so we know each other pretty well and under my watch she won't be doing anything silly XD
Yeah so usually ^^^ those unusual stuff and talking to someone helps really but then people are different, it helped my friends though -
don't cut yourself 38

I hope what we've said helps.

Some alternatives are snapping a rubber band (this is still self harm, but not as bad), holding ice to where you want to cut, and releasing the energy creatively. Some people draw, write, sing, or just scribble. Also I'd suggest listening to some music that makes you feel better (it doesn't have to be overly flowery) and looking at things that make you feel positive instead of triggering things.
