This is a worse thing a guy can do on a first date:
Guy:*digs through his pockets for money to pay for a check* Hey can you pay for this? *shows his empty pockets* I'm kinda...broke.
Happened to my aunt once and it was an expensive restaurant. Never went on a second date with the guy. Smart on her part.
