So I was looking through the list of new quizzes here on gtq, and I click on one that says something close to "Do you see the same colors as me?" And I click on it, and completely ignore the intro.
I see this interesting word that was synesthesia. I thought I should research it and I found out I have synesthesia.
Synesthesia is not a bad thing, in my opinion. The way I have it is that I preceive each letter with a color, almost always, each letter in the word differs in color.
Example: the word "Like"
the 'L'is yellow
'i' is a light blue
'k'is a darker blue
'e' is somekind of yellow orange.
But I see the colors in my mind, while I know here on GTQ, it is typed in black.
For me, some words change colors depending on the emotion I get from them or my background with them.
Example: "red"
I first read the color as black, then as the 'r' being red, 'e' being yellow, and 'd' being brown. Then overall, the color of the word is red.
There are other types of synesthesia, and exhibit some traits of about each type, but I preceive the word-colors, and personallity synesthesia more often.
It's a weird world out there... and I thought it was normal to see the words like this. I seriously did! And, apparently it is genetic, so now I will investigate further! -
Oh, Personality Synesthesia is when you give each letter and number a personality.
Example:
When I was younger, I never liked to add 7 and 4 together b/c 4 was a chill, lazy, good number, while 7 was mischievous and not trustworthy.
Go figure. -
I see colors when I read things, but I'm not sure if it's the same
A-red
B-blue
C-yellow (I assume this association has to do with C is for coward, and yellow is associated with cowardice)
D-blue
E-yellow
F-black (possibly death and failure)
G-blue
H-pink
I-red
J-pink
K-red
L-yellow
M-brown
N-black
O-red
P-blue
Q-gray
R-white
S-pink
T-blue
U-yellow
V-pink-red
W-blue
X-black
Y-white
Z-gray
Interesting how only select types of colors show up. -
Yeah, and the colors differ for all synaedthesias and is EXTREMELY rare, almost impossiblely rare to have all the colors match up exactly with another person with synesthia. Some colors are iffy for me, depends on my mood, sometimes.
A is most commonly red. I see it red also. -
Sometimes they can change colors, but A is ALWAYS red.

^^YES! Exactly with me! I have been looking for others who have this so I don't seem like a total weirdo in my head. It is as rare as they say. My younger sibiling has synesthesia too and she says A is Always red also.
You should look it up on google. It's actually intersting. :)

Yeah, I have Asperger's though so I always thought it was one of those weird quirks.

Dude, I'm not just saying this to fit into some little group, I see this a lot too. ._. I never thought it was a real thing, though.
What's common for me:
A-Pink
B-Purple, maybe dark blue
C-Yellow, bright color
D-Orange or brown
E-Trickier, I'd say a dark orange
F-Dark green
H-A light blue, like turquoise
I-Indigo blue
J-Dark red
K-Purple/Violet
L-Depends on in the word, but like a yellow or cool color
M-A dark color, perhaps dark red
N-Lighter than M, perhaps yellow
O-A light grassy green
P-Warm color, like orange or red
Q-Mint green
R-A lime-ish yellow
S-White
T-Purple
U-Yellow
V-Coral orange/pink
W-A light color, maybe yellow or green
X-Dark blue or purple
Y-Deep orange
Z-Navy blue -
Really? We're learning about synesthesia in my general music class. I actually think it's really cool, and that you're pretty lucky. I don't have it, but I think it's a really cool thing and that it's cool that you guys have it :)

Thats cool.. I dont have it, but when I was younger I always thought of letters and numbers having different personalities, that kinda went away though :P

Each letter, word, and number have a different color to me, but ony in my head. Numbers can be masculine or feminine. So can letter and words, but more with numbers. Like, 49 is a feminine number to me. 48 is feminine as well. 47 is masculine.

Some letters have properties for me as well.
A- perfection, idealism, impossible goals, fire
B- everyday life, calm water, reachable goals
C- ugly, boring things
F- black, death, failure, sadness, hellfire
G- parallel universe
Z- third dimension -
Most letters and words have personalities for me.

You know what I find intersting that I just noticed? GTQ has a very unique group of people. A lot, like you, have things to them that are rare or special. Me, I'm not very all that special or rare, but synesthesia is very rare, and a bunch of people on thus website have it. I think that's cool :)

I'm not sure if I understand this,but if its like every number,letter,or days of the week having a certian color or feel to myself,then I think I might have it.I think.Like I always saw Thursdays as Red,Fridays Purple,Blue Wednesday,Green Tuesday,Monday like a Brown-bland color.
