Thread Topic: So a 10 year-old was killed this week.

This past week an 10 year-old boy was riding around on his bike while playing with his 8 year-old companion. This 8 year old child also happened to have a pellet gun that would regularly be used to hunt rabbits and squirrels. Not knowing that the gun was loaded, the little boy shot his friend.
Now I want to know why the hell this child's parents let him go out with this gun? They could have at least checked if it was loaded first.
Thoughts? -
I actually have to agree. Even if it is a pellet gun, it still shot his friend.
-
The parents may not of known he was carrying pellet gun. But if they did well... god damn
And well that kid should of checked if the gun was loaded. First rule of gun safety- Dont point the gun at anyone, especaily dont "pretend" to shoot someone. I realize He's just a kid and maybe he didn't know what he was doing and I feel bad for him. He probaly will feel like crap for what he done and his mistake will most likely haunt his memory for most of his life. So my heart goes out to everyone invovled.
Anyways thats just what I think. -
I know that it was an accident.
The kid isn't being charged.
The parents aren't being charged.
All that's left is a burial. -
Awe. 3: That's sad
-
Dude theyre just gonna blame the pellet gun. cuz thats how f---ing retarded this country is. Inanimate objects are always what get blamed. Even if its not an accident, like this sounds like it was I guess.
-
ColdHardTruth NewbieThe parents should hold responsibility. They weren't responsible allowing a 8 year old to be carrying around a gun. Someone dies, someone should get charged. It's how it goes.
-
Poor kid....and the parents of the child.Just a really bad accident.Maybe the kid got the gun without the parents knowing and it happened to be loaded. The parents should be more careful with where they leave the damn weapons.6 Powerful guns in my house(not sure what the names are,all I know is they can send someone flying across the room) we have them locked and stored away.I wish all gun owners could follow this rule.I assume the kid found the gun,I hope the parents didn't give it to him or something. If thats the case they shouldn't even own any guns.
I like guns, its stuff this ruining it for responsible owners XP -
Stupid Country......
Where did this happen? -
Well, an eight year old should know that you aren't supposed to aim anything but a squirt gun at another person. I knew that when I was eight, and I would be shocked if most eight year olds didn't. Also, if it was a gun used to hunt rabbits and squirrels, that leads me to believe that the child lives in an area where hunting is more common, which makes me think that he would know even more about gun safety than other children.
I'm not saying it's the kid's fault for not knowing, or the parents' for not telling their son. We should learn from this and better educate our children on gun safety and use. After all, wouldn't we like to prevent this in the future? -
@doodle-It happened in the foothills of California, where all the ignorant rednecks live.
